I already have the 128 mb green colored Soyo drive. It works under XP, 2k without drivers. I did have to install drivers for 98Se on a machine or two. Things to note: the software that comes with it is crap. You would have to install their special drivers to password protect it or use those hot-synch features the product is advertized with. I use it as simple storage, I've heard of using programs and mounted drive stuff to protect, but I haven't done it. It's a bit on the longer side to attach to keychain IMHO.

People on FW are ordering with 2nd day shipping for two dollars more. Probably worth it. I'm still sitting on my hands trying to avoid buying this in the name of xmas gift for others. This would be such a great stockign stuffer, yet just illustrate how much a geek I am.

Mine cancelled too!!! maybe just as well not sure how truely portable this was...may have to research this product and similar...besides the money I have spent today before rebates has been brutal....after rebates it will be super but I might have liked this thing anybody care to comment on its real-world portability???

If you work around computers with front USB, it's nice and portable. If you can outfit your own computers with USB A M-F connectors/extension cords to the front, it's great. I've used it to carry powerpoint presentations onto a laptop (where USB zip drives are a pain in the ass to carry around, this is small) and carry things home from a dell (front USB) at work to my computer (which has the extension cable). I've used it to quickly pull things from a Mac (note: mac will put recycle bins and finder files all over the drive) to a PC in a pinch. It gets tricky when you're on an old computer with only the two USB headers on the back atx panel. The drive is fat enough you can only fit one USB thing in at a time with that type of setup. If you have one of those internal USB headers with a card/bracket in back or only need to connect one USB thing (this drive), then you're fine. I think that tight fit in the back is why they give you the single extension cable in the package.
