Well we know now how they will bridge the long wait to Zen4 on AM5 Q4 2022.
Production start for V-cache is end this year so too early for Zen4 so this is certainly coming to AM4.
+15% Lisa said is "like an entire architectural generation"

If buying a new motherboard won't solve this issue and it's just the devices and not the motherboard that's the issue, then I will just stick with my motherboard and just upgrade to one of these CPUs.
Are you using these devices with a USB hub?
or USB extension cable?

If so, try rearranging your USB cables to plug directly into the mainboard.

If that fails, check for a BIOS update for your mainboard. The 2021/04/08 Bios update for the ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING has the following text "Fix USB connectivity issue".

If you do update the BIOS, suggest following instructions exactly and updating to latest version.

I was thinking about upgrading from a 5800X to a 5800X3D or a 5950X and also a new motherboard based on the X570S chipset. I mainly want a new motherboard because some USB devices act weird on my Asus B550-F (Wi-fi) motherboard despite having updated to the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. I use Windows 11 but also this happened in Windows 10. If I buy the CPU and motherboard at the same time at Microcenter, I will get a discount $20 off the motherboard. If buying a new motherboard won't solve this issue and it's just the devices and not the motherboard that's the issue, then I will just stick with my motherboard and just upgrade to one of these CPUs.

Did you check for the patriot viper rgb ssd software that (asrock, asus, gigabyte, and MSI) may have snuck on your system? I had it and removing it fixed many problems.

The long detection issue happens with my PNY 32GB USB 2.0 drive when connected directly to the motherboard's USB and my case's front USB ports. Even right after it's freshly formatted as NTFS it still has the issue with the long detection. Could it just be a poor quality drive?

How long of a time are we talking about?

Most complaints about USB issues have the device losing connection after it has already been recognized.

If it is less then a minute, I would suggest to you that is the way that device is just going to be.

Around 30 seconds after the USB connection chime does the drive letter for that particular flash drive appear under "This PC". My Kingston 16GB USB 3.0, SanDisk 2GB USB 2.0, SanDisk 4GB USB 2.0, SanDisk 128GB USB 3.0, and PNY 64GB USB 3.0 don't have this issue.

It is just that drive.

Just live with it. Odds are a motherboard upgrade will not effect it.

That particular drive does not have the issue on my mom's PC. It shows the drive letter instantly under "This PC" after the USB connection chime. She has Lenovo PC with the AMD A10-7800 APU and is using Windows 10.

Honestly, you are thinking too much and worrying too much. Maybe that drive has a crappy flash controller that doesn't like some USB chipsets. Or it's using some hack that is not recognized by all USB chipsets. 32GB USB 3.0 drives are cheap. Time to relegate that old drive to something else. Plug it into the Lenovo PC and leave it there.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU gets a delid for improved temperatures | TechSpot

What's interesting about this delid is that replacing the factory liquid metal with some of Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut led to the CPU running 10 degrees Celsius cooler and maintaining higher clocks during gaming workloads. Madness says this was a worthwhile improvement as the 5800X3D would previously reach temperatures of up to 90 degrees during long gaming sessions in titles like Forza Horizon 5.

Encouraging but sad that AMD didn't use a better thermal paste for this lovely CPU.

$35 is cheap for superior paste solutions. What they really need is a way circulate the cooled paste in and the heated paste out of the core area about 60 times per second, like a heart pump. Even better if its in a closed loop system where it can never leak or take in moisture. You'd probably need 2-3 bottles of paste for that.

How are they hitting 90C in Forza Horizon 5? My friend’s 5800X sees those temps during gaming, but he is reusing the same stock cooler that came with his 3700X…

I saw another post on hardforum where their 5800X3D was seeing high temps and it turned out it was around 1.3v. A stock 5800X3D should be around 1.2v.

Indeed. My 5700X barely ever hits 70C at full throttle, and that is with a cheap Arctic Freezer 34 tower cooler with Noctua F12 PWM fan.

That is because the 5700x (8core 16 thread) is done right with the power setup. The 5800x is literally a 5950x with 8 cores disabled with all the power draw of a fully featured 5950x. The 5700x is what it's supposed to be an 8 core 16 thread CPU.

You don't know crap do you? A 5800X only has one CCD, just like the 5700X. It is not a 4 + 4 design. Yet you continue to bash AMD and promote Intel while claiming that you will continue to buy AMD. This post sums it up perfectly.

Let's use that and replace CPU's with TV's.

X brand TV's have had a good run, but Y brand TV's are doing way better. Y brand TV's will advance at a rate the X brand TV's simply cannot. Yet I will but brand X's TV within the next year, validating my opinion.

You can't make this stuff up! I'm going to buy into what I think is an inferior platform despite Intel being so great?

Well it is not impossible some of those would be dual chiplets, just as there are dual chiplets 5600x but probably not many.

Proof? The performance would be quite different. Just look at the 3300X compared to the 3100. I've never heard of a dual chiplet 5600X or 5800X.

EDIT: So there may be a nugget of truth to this. I still find it hard to believe as there would be very different cache latencies and therefore performance in certain situations.
