I've heard a few horror stories about XFX.

Leadtek gets good recomendations... also, one of the best out there is the BFG brand. BFG overclocks the cards by default (so they are already a bit faster then the competition) and they guarantee their cards FOR LIFE. Great after-purchase support from BFG.

I have two BFG cards up and running in the house... a BFG GeForce 5900, and YES, a BFG GeForce 6600GT OC (overclocked).

There does seem to be a large number of XFX problems, and most seem to be with the 6600GT. I would get a Leadtek, BFG, or eVga.
And yes I have an XFX, but it's still new and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

i have the XFX 6600GT PCIe, and i like it a lot, especially considering it's usually the cheapest out there. The blue PCB and dual DVI outputs really set it apart from the others. As for overclocking, mine's sitting at 543/1090 right now. I'm not sure how much higher i can go, but i know there were little green artifacts at 552/1120, not sure if that's the upper limit for memory, GPU, or both, though. Anyways, it's real stable, and the dual DVI is a must for LCD owners. The only thing i found lacking was the software bundle, which included (yawn) commandos 3, X2: the threat, and some stupid nascar racing game. Of course, i've had no personal experience with the AGP version, so i don't know how it performs relative to the PCIe, but i know they use the same stuff other than the bridge chip.

Oh, yeah, and if you can find a BFG or gainward, they are great, but I haven't seen any of them available yet, even though they both "launched" their overclocked product lines several months ago. Man, I hate paperlaunches.

Not sure where you're at, but you can order them online from Chumbo.com or Outpost.com.

I'd stay clear of the XFX brand... if you can't get BFG, go with Leadtek or eVGA.

That's funny... both the stores I mentioned have BFGs in stock, and I have a BFG 6600GT sitting in my computer right now... doesn't seem like a paper launch to me.

Paper launches are common nowadays though, XFX did good for 6600GT AGP but that's only one case, lets see whether they can keep to it.

Get XFX, my friend has the same one running for nearly 3 months now and works great. They have the new fansink go with the card now that offers more cooling.

I also do not know if you know this, but there is a review of different brands inthe video section on this site. The Leadtek came out on top.

I have the leadtek and I can only say that I am very satisfied with it. Anandtech gave it it's gold medal award....if that means anything. Just my suggestion...I would buy it again.
