any 6600GT owners, what AA and AF can you get to run smoothly on your card?

Just wondering as I don't normally feel the need to change what already look very good.

well...bf2 for instance..

I have 1gb of Corsair XMS 3200LL

When I run BF2 at ANY aa or af setting, I tend to get video lag at 1024x768.

Just wondering what resolution I'd have to go to in order to get my video clean and crisp but also avoid the choppiness.

You guys can joke around and stuff, but a 6600GT has done me well for a good amount of time, and I'm on the verge up jumping up considerbly with my next build. However, that next build includes a 19" 8ms Samsung LCD, which means I won't start it until I've got atleast another 300 dollars plus shipping.

I run half-life 2 at 1280x1024 with 16xAF and it runs smoothly, but I can't run battlefield 2 at any AA or AF or else it gets too slow.

I run my card overclocked at 570/1200

same here.

stupid bf2 has to be so damn taxing on hardware.

seriously? 2gb of RAM? I mean that's a bit ridiculous...not requiring but even *REQUESTING* at minimun 2gb to run smoothly...

I know this is the era for upgrades and will be for years to come, but a game that needs that much memory just to run smoothly. I'm sorry I have a hard time dealing with that. Especially considering the cost of DDR rising, and the fact that I run excellent grade memory that doesn't come nearly as cheap as a couple valueselects.

I usually run at 1280x1024, the most AA I can usually get away with without any slowdown is 2X, and often not even that.

BTW, BF2 doesn't need 2GB of ram to run smoothly, just more than 1GB. Of course, if you want to run in dual channel, you more or less need 2GB then.(I guess 1.5GB could work, 512+256 in each channel)

doom3 i run 1280x1024 8xAF runs very smoothly
2xAA is a hint slower, so i don't run it often but i imagine it runs ok

half -life2 you can get away with AF but dont think AA works out so well

I play HL2, CS:S, Farcry, and Doom 3 at 1024x768 with 8xAF. AA really hurts the 6600 GT as does high resolution. Keep it under 1280x960/1024.
