6600GT to 7900GT

Oblivion is pretty much my addiction right now. I got tired of the mediocre graphics my 6600GT provided so I bit the bullet and bought one of the new rev EVGA 7900 GT KO.

HOLY COW!

I went from 800 x 600 @ 25fps outdoors to 1600 x 1050 @ 30+ FPS with the graphics cranked.

The new 7900GTs are awesome, especially paired with my brand new Viewsonic 2025w. So much better than my old 6600GT paired with a Samsung 955df.

Nice! I remember when I went from 6600GT to 7800GT, I think it was the day after the 7 series came out. aah, to go from 4000 madly overclocked on refriged air to 7000+ stock in 3dmark 05.

7900GTs are great bang for the buck cards. I love mine, I only wish that Arctic Cooling made an NV Silencer for it. I miss DHES.

VX2025 and 7900gt (or POSSIBLY the x1900xt, if the price is right) is what i'm looking at getting (eventually, i've been meaning to upgrade for months now....). I'm currently sitting on a fx5200 and a samsung 740N...

I noticed that you have the same processor as me, the 3200+. I currently have a 7800gt but was planning on upgrading to the 1900xt for 1680 x 1050 resolution. At this resolution, do you think there would be much of a bottleneck from my CPU?

I have been having problems probably with the PSU. I will tell you when I receive a new piece. I think my Antec SP 500 was not doing it, getting Antec NeoHE 500.

Tell me the performance in games with current card, and I will tell you which I have treid and have run ok. After the new psu thing should hopefully be ok, RMAed HDD as well.

Early last year I went from TNT2 32Mb to 6600GT - I'll probably be getting a 7600GT this year, but if things get cheaper, maybe even a 7900GT.

Originally "upgraded" from a geforce 4 ti4600 to the X700 PRO (AGP) over a year ago. It helped a little bit in WoW and CS:Source, but not worth the $200 I spent on it. I hate the X700 with a passion, but I gotta wait for Conroe/Price cuts now

My 7900GT's play really well too (of corse I have 2 of them and there running @ 700/1620 )

Maby it's time to Upgrade a little more (for $20).

You'll deffinitly need 3rd party cooling for that, and if your nervous about it, completly skip the memory vmod, and only do 1.4v on core.
