Side note: if EBM is really 67 years old, that seems a little old to have been an enlisted draftee type soldier during the Vietnam War.
Say about: 26 or 27 years old in 1968. Maybe he was a medical corpsman, or a (low-ranking) officer back then??

maybe he just liked the adventure? i know my wife's uncle did 3-4tours in the marine corp, has ptsd to this day but can definiately still handle himself if he needed to. plus vietnam was from 10/1959 till 04/1975, who knows what he did there.

My dad was a fresh draftee in Vietnam and he is around 65.
