Jaton? I've never heard of them, but if this is a 6800GT, then it is hot. Jaton stuff scares me a bit though.

If it's a reference card, which I'd assume it most likely is, then it should be more or less the same as other 6800GTs. In that case, a good deal to get in on here.

Jaton makes nice cards. I've used a few to build systems in the past. But from the Mfg Part# I'd guess that it's a regular 6800, not the GT.

Tax in CA, plus $22 to ship standard ground kills this for me even if it IS the GT.

I've only seen Jaton make the 6800 vanilla with 128 and 256mb's.

Here's a link to the card from pcmall.

So... probably not hot methinks.

I actually just checked out there website and found this on there. It states a 16 pipe architecture. 6800GT's and Ultra's are the only ones with 16 pipes, the 6800 vanilla's only have 12. I'm not sure anymore but one thing I do know is that Jaton only makes low end stuff. But like a previous poster stated, if this is a reference card it should be just fine.

Edit: Link didn't work, you can go to product index --> 6800 and it'll show this:

3DForce 6800 series video accelerators are nVIDIA GeForce?§ 6800 core technology based 128MB/256MB DDR/DDR3 BGA memory modules built-in onboard. The 3DForce 6800 series GPUs supercharges PC game performance.

Featuring groundbreaking technology innovations such as the industry¡¦s first superscalar 16-pipe architecture and support for the world¡¦s fastest DDR3 memory, these revolutionary GPUs arm you with everything you need to tear through your favorite games at unbelievable frame rates. With 8x floating-point shader power and 2x the vertex processing power over previous-generation GPUs, the 3DForce 6800 series raise the bar for 3D graphics performance.

Dunno, I always take time to read the negative reviews and so far it seems that the majority of the negative reviews are from cancellation/in stock/out of stock issues which means if you don't mind waiting for you card it's safe to order.

Well I ordered it and sent Buy.com an e-mail and this is what they sent back:

Thank you for contacting Buy.com.

This is in reference to your Order #********.

We apologize that the delivery of your order is taking longer
than expected and for any inconvenience this has caused. Unfortunately,
due to a setback from the manufacturer, item #******** on your
order is currently on backorder and it is Nvidia 6800 GT with
256 mb of memory. We update our website once every 24 hours.
Occasionally items run out of stock before we can update this
information.

Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of arrival; however,
you will receive an email from us once the product you ordered
ships. Please note that your credit card will not be billed until
that time.

We apologize again for the inconvenience.

So I guess it is a real 6800 GT.

This is what I wrote them:

I just want to make sure that this is an Nvidia 6800 GT with 256 mb of memory.
I do not want a regular 6800. If it is a regular 6800 I would like to cancel my
order.

And the above was the response they sent me.

I've got it at $327 shipped after coupon...so tempted to click ORDER but worried this could just turn into a big headache if it turns out to be a typo....plus never heard of jaton but that shouldn't really matter much, right? hmmm....damn

well...I clicked order but, even though it showed the $15 off coupon working, once I ordered it said the $15 off was no good...so...piss on this...I'll wait till I hear a little more about this card before I consider trying to order again.

Jaton is a real low end manufacturer, beware. Jaton has been around for a long time, but they make crappy everythings - from modems to video cards. The first computer system I purchased 8 years ago, when I was computer ignorant, had a cheapo jaton card and it sucked. Even if it is a reference card, personally I would not take a chance. Maybe the company has changed and they are making quality parts now, but maybe not!!!

Well here is all I can say to this. I found this yesterday and I thought it was sweet. If I end up getting a regular 6800 then I can complain to them and if they don't do anything I can go to the FCC and stuff. I'd al least get a refund in the end. I'll take my chances.
