6800 LE benchmarks

ATi:X800SE/X800PRO/X800GT(maybe?)/X800XT/X800XT PE

Is anyone else getting sick of this? Just too many paper launches trying to beat the other guy to the door.

although I would never buy a 6800LE, it really does look worth the $200.

Seems roughly on par, if overclocked, with a 9800XT (which is way overpriced in my opinion) at stock, so it seems like a good value in comparison to a 9800XT. When overclocked, it appears to be ranging from about 10% slower to 20 % faster than a 9800XT at stock, so say 5-10% faster overall.

If you consider most 9800pros overclock to around XT levels, then overclocked it is roughly the same value, maybe a hair better due to a newer feature set, as a 9800 Pro overclocked, which by any standard is a nice value.

If the tweakers uncover 4 or 8 additional pipes with a high degree of modding success and the memory bus isn't handicapped with a 128bit bus or extremely slow ram, this would be a tremendous value IMHO.

It seems to trade blows with the 9800xt. Ill call them even in my opinion. This card is worth its value.

Looks good, and it has the potential to be a monster w/ a softmod (so long as it has the same NV40 core).

IMO it's not quite as good a buy as a $170 and dropping 9800 Pro, but it's certainly right there with it. I think this really marks an end to the 5900s though. That is a very nice overclock they got though.

That's a pretty bold statement. Care to give us some reasons? Can a 9800PRO overclock to the point where it consistantly beats a 6800NU? You seem to reccomend ATi every single time you post, so I'm beginning to question your objectivity.

$30 is 17% extra cost at that price level. Do you really see that sort of performance increase? Overclocking is hardly guaranteed either; I have a 9800 at 460 mhz, which most people don't seem to reach.

Either way the 6800 seems like an even weaker card at $300.

Yeah, well $200 is the MSRP. You can expect the street price to be significantly lower. I wouldn't be surprised to see it lower than the price of a 9800PRO.

In any event, I have yet to see you reccomend an nVidia product in any situation. I'll do a search if I'm in the mood for it.

Go ahead. For the record, I'll reccomend a 6800 GT every time at the $400 price point.

If the street price is indeed lower, then I'll change my mind. It does look to be a faster card than the 9800 pro is.

The overclock was impressive with a 20% improvement. If I can find one in my price range (</= $150) I'll definitely buy it!!

Looks like a very reputable source of info... GeForce Fx6800. Where's the GeForce 4 FX6800LE MX?

meh. like there aren't other places that make that common mistake of putting FX in front of 6800. whether or not the source is reputable is not, it seems there may very well be a 6800LE in the near future. more speculation
