About ENGLISH the article is about 6600GT AGP by Leadtek, so X800 XT PE & 6800U comparision presents only at the digramms, which are 100% English.

Although I'm glad you like the 6800U, PMA, and want to share that with us, I think it's a little premature of you to say "6800U has achieved reversal of all previous benchmarks with new wonder drivers!".

Even if true, the previous situation of the XT PE leading by a couple meaningless frames has only been reversed to the 6800U leading by a couple meaningless frames.

The deal with the 6800U is the feature set and SLI, not framerate. It's always been competitive there.

Most people here know this.

Of course, no.

Great performance boost was gained just in Half-Life2 - in other gaming benchmarks situation is similar to the one seen before 7x.xx: TRAoD gives an advantage for ATI, DOOM3 - for NVIDIA, and FarCry 1.3 smth average - depending on the demo that has been chosen for benchmark.

About feature set - I agree, but SLI is, at first, PCI Express only, at second, PCI-E versions 6800GT and, especially, Ultra aren't wide spread and, at third, using SLI outthrow us far (extra 200+ USD) from the price-range (500-600USD) of 6800U/X800XT.

For 6600GT_SLI based systems situation is more disappointing: with higher price, power consumption and potential compatibility problems it could not be a real alternative for the 6800GT-based systems.

As a new architecture, the nV40 will be seeing some large performance gains compared to the two year old R420 architecture. I'll wait for the dust to settle and things to become WHQL before I judge these new ones.

if the 800xl can make it to market in any numbers (ati has frankly sucked in getting cards to the market other than the 800pro), at it's pricepoint it's easily the best bang for the buck card, tho it's ogl performance is still a weakpoint. the only saving factor is that dx games are more common. still wonder if will ati ever solve this.. despite all this, the 800xl looks to be a very sweet card.

Uh, Temp AA is not a crappy gimmick,

It requires vsync to be on. Do I really need to say anything else?

But again, if somebody likes TAA then certainly that makes ATi more attractive to them.

Which only works in a very few games, since its very hard to get playable FPS, but thats another story.

I run 8xAA in Quake, Quake 2, HalfLife (original), Red Faction, and Soldier of Fortune (and maybe a few others). It's a nice option especially for older titles and/or titles that have limited resolutions, plus it doesn't require vsync and it doesn't dsiable itself if the system dips below 60 FPS.

When a very popular game like Flatout DOESNT work (unless you use the latest patch released 3 weeks ago) with NV's official drivers, 66.93's, you're forced to hunt down beta drivers.

nVidia certainly has driver issues but let's not pretend ATi doesn't. IME overall nVidia still has the edge in this department.

You maye be referring to the DEP issue and that's certainly legitimate but I can counter by pointing out (for example) that I couldn't run COD at all in the whole of 2004 because it would consistently lock up on my 9700 Pro on 4.1 onwards (I think 4.12 fixed it in the end).

X800XT PE is a bit faster ultra has more feature.. Flip a coin if equal price. If not buy cheaper one.
