6800GS AGP!!

I want 7800GS in AGP!

Word.. I only skimmed the new Anandtech 7800GS article, but didn't see any mention of AGP. Man you step on the forums for a day and see so many people in the same boat who just want a good AGP card. Hopefully the 6800GS AGP will be $200 in a month or two. And a 7800GS for $250-275 would be awesome too. Ati will probably stand there with their hands down theirs pants as usual...

OK, but I already have a X800 Pro. Should I even consider that card?

Between Doom3 and HL2 I prefer HL2. So I think thats the one I need to get good frame-rates with.

NV40 core, that's the best part of this(unlockable??). i'm pretty sure it will match the the pci-e version as far clock speed goes, cause it would be pointless to release it if didn't. i guess we'll just to have to wait and see.

only if it can be unlocked, cause i'm pretty much in the same boat (6800nu unlocked) it would only be a side grade for me if there's no possiblity of 6800gs unlocking.

kinda like why theres no 5900ultra in pci,...but they sure as sh!t threw a bone to the pci users with the 5200,5500 and 5600,which they went back and did after they made thier money from the agp versions......and is more than they needed to imo

and anyone with agp 6800ultras and GT's and x800xt's and x850xt's wont see this as changing anything

The difference being that you would take a huge performance hit with a 5900/9800 in pci. Whereas you will not with an 7800/x1800 in agp.
