I like my BFG 6800GT OC, however there are some issues with some Direct 3D games like stuttering, jitter, hitching etc. Doom 3 however plays like butter.
BTW - The stutter issue is common on most brands of 6800s Sometimes the 66.81 driver fixes it, sometimes trial and error items fix it.
I just got my eVGA GeForce 6800GT (with Far Cry bundle) installed with the rest of my new components last night and I couldn't be more happy. It screams!
I'm leaning towards Evga. It seems to be the least expensive brand and you get Far Cry in the bundle, which I was planning on buying anyway. Plus, I have not heard of any major problems with Evga products.
I'll jump on the bandwagon recommending eVGA also.
Best pricing compared to all the others.Same performance. No problems at all.
Plus you get Far Cry with it and a future upgrade option.
Plenty have OC'd their eVGA GT's to Ultra speeds with stock cooling without a hitch.
My XFX 6800GT is pretty damn nice. Stays quiet, cool, and overclocks well. Never had any stuttering, hitching, or whatever in any games; nice and smooth.
I had an EVGA 6800 GT, great card! The reason I don't have it now is because EVGA gives you more flexibility than any other company. If the GT isn't enough for you, you can upgrade to the Ultra wihtin the first 90 days! That upgrade option and Far Cry can't be beat by any other manufacturer.
P.S. Far Cry is a better game but... EVGA also offers a GT with a Doom 3 bundle for a few bucks more!.... And my Ultra is arriving next week!
