I was happy to get 4GB of DDR3 for $85. For 6GB it's definitely a price mistake.

Please accept our apologies

Beginning Monday, March 15th and extending into the morning of the 16th, we received a high volume of orders for our new Ridgeback parts. This was based in part on the fact that an erroneous price was posted in error at several popular web destinations. We received approximately 70 orders before our e-commerce system's failsafes kicked in. If you placed an order for a Ridgeback part today or yesterday, your credit card has been charged and you have no received no confirmation email, please expect that your card will be refunded as fast as possible. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience, and hope to serve your computer component needs in the future.

Oh well, guess I'm goin Corsair

I did receive a confirmation email from them. I just emailed them and let them know that I am expecting to receive the product. If not I will contact the State AG's office. Even if they can't help me, I just want to raise awareness of how we get crapped on by certain online retailers. They had the product marked on the shelf at a specific price, I purchased the product, they took payment from me, I received a confirmation email, now I want my product.

So they make a price mistake and you consider it being "crapped on" when they cancel the order? wtf did you expect? them just to eat the cost?

i don't understand what is wrong with people these days...

Serradifalco,

I understand your fustration. I also received the same email, however, it is the norm for most web based retailers to have a paragraph in their "Terms of Sale" or similar that in case of pricing errors they have the right to cancel the orders. I'm pretty sure that Mushkin has one, as well, but I don't want to spend the time to look for it.

While it is annoying to us, the consumers, I honestly believe that you will find that you don't have a legal standing for your complaint. I guess it can't hurt to try, but just don't be too disappointed if it doesn't get you the results that you're looking for.

Changing the subject...

dualsmp,

Hope you don't mind, but I'm making that picture you posted my new avatar.

Lol good luck with that.

I am sending them an email telling them that the interest rate to borrow my money is 25% a week. A pricing mistake is not a case for the AG, but charging my cc and holding the cash in something I'll get irate over.

Glad you approve. I just couldn't pass it up.

Like jjmIII posted...at least I got something out of this deal, even if it wasn't ram at a sick price.

Well, I think the key issue here is that they 'charged' our debit/credit card before they shipped! Typically, no charge goes through until they ship...sounds to me like an implied contract regradless of what there site agreement says...

There are absolutely no laws requiring vendors to not charge when an order is placed. It's courtesy, not law. There's nothing to stop a vendor from canceling an already paid for order and refunding in full the purchase price - I mean honestly, what happens on back ordered items that go out of production during back order? Are you honestly going to throw a fit if the vendor gives your money back to you stating "Sorry, it is impossible to fulfill your order."?

It is borderline unethical to charge a credit card before you are ready to ship a product, but if the refund is done reasonably quickly I won't be that upset. If they hold my money for 6 weeks I'll charge them the 25% a week I stated above, basically right now they've made a mistake and I understand that, 3-4 days from now they have stolen my money and I'll expect to be compensated.

Checked email, they responded with another apology, stating the price was less than half their cost and that they are working to get refunds processed.

Good luck with that. Explicitly: They never signed a contract they were taking your money as a loan. Just saying - you have no legal legs to stand on there.

He makes a good point. I don't think you would get anywhere imo. More power to ya if your gonna try but I'm just saying. The odds of it turning in your favor are slim. GL though

NOW they have it the way they wanted it...

998826

List Price: $309.91

Web Price: $269.49

I do surmise that the volume of orders is way down, even with the 20% off that they are now offering, compared to "the night of the 15th and morning of the 16th".

Assuming you paid with a Credit Card, it's technically not your own money anyway(for 20-30 days or whatever your "grace period" is) so you have no right to charge interest.
