6s or 6s Plus??

So I've pretty much decided 6s......(this is my first smart phone...no joke).

Anyway, long story short.....Costco doesn't have the plus. They were supposed to get it yesterday....they didn't. I can get from VZ or Apple but Costco is cheaper w/ $100 discount *and* less tax, etc.

I'm thinking of just doing a preorder & waiting for it to come in....(nobody at Costco knows when, for sure, they're getting the Plus).

I'm also transitioning myself & family out of contract style to (probably) the XL plan (12GB shared vs 2GB ea among 4 phones)

I'm a cyclist & am a little concerned about such a large phone but I'm also a tall guy, big hands, etc and kinda want to blend iPhone & iPad into 1 device so I think the Plus would work well for me.

Thoughts and/or suggestions?

TIA

The 6s is a more balanced phone in my opinion. Whichever way you are leaning towards, check both out in person and get a feel for them. Unless you want a big phone and are thus so predisposed, the awkwardness of the 6s Plus should be immediately manifest.

The 6s plus is an awesome phone!! It`s a personal choice! Just because one person claims the 6s plus is awkward does not make it so!~!

TMobile has a good family plan right now, "10 for all" unlimited talk, text, and 10GB each, no overages, you're throttled to 3G after 10GB, moved whole family to it last month.

I do get frustrated with TMobile saying it's simple, etc, it's all gimmicks and credits, LOL.

And you can't go wrong with either phone, just depends on which size you want.

Thanks so much for the replies!! I just took the fam out for a late lunch & there was a regular Verizon store in the complex. Took them over and my wife was 50/50. She said *she* couldn't handle a Plus but the kids were definitely not liking the Plus. They all have 5c's so not even as big as a regular 6.

2 things I noticed is that the text appears differently on the Plus (more bold, less thin) and spec-wise the Plus apparently has significantly longer battery life. (Obviously results vary)

Costco deal ends on 9/30 so trying to make my decision before then. (Obviously I'll have to preorder from Costco & wait)

I'm a bit worried about the extra weight of the 6S plus. I currently have an iPhone 5, but before that I had a 5.5" Android phone. When you're using it, a 5.5" screen is great - however it sucked when you have to put it in a pocket. I ditched Android because the battery life sucked (or at least was very inconsistent) and I just like iOS better.

My 2 year upgrade day is Oct 1st, so I've been in a real quandary as to which phone to get. It will be an "S" version for sure, to get the extra RAM. I think I've decided on the 6S, and not the plus, as the screen is big enough, and it will be easier to pocket. However I sometimes think a 6S+ would be nice, as you get a bigger battery along with the bigger screen. I'm really hpoing they have a 6S+ in store, so I can feel the real weight of it.

I find the 6s difficult to use one-handed, and the 6s+ (or actually 6+, since I haven't actually seen a 6s+) impossible to use one-handed. Plus the 6s+ is a pain for pockets.

Plus I often felt like I was going to drop the 6s+. It's nice to use as a mini-tablet when you have two hands free, but for me, I tend to use my phone one-handed. eg. Tea in one hand, phone in the other, or carrying briefcase in one hand and phone in the other.

In contrast, some women I know love that size, as they always use their phones two-handed anyway, and when they're not using it, it goes in their purses. I guess some women at least, bigger is indeed better.

FWIW, I ordered the 6s+ today. I couldn't get over the undersize of the 6s. (It's literally about the smallest phone out there now.

Combined w/ the lesser battery and non 1080p screen.....(I rarely care much between 720 or 1080 on small video content but I literally notice a difference on the 2 phones).

I've come to the conclusion that there may not be a perfect phone, but I think the + is about to me what the regular would be to many women...(I'm tall, have large hands, large pockets, large......uhh)

Anywho......I think it's definitely gonna be the right phone for me but even so, assuming it is, I'd like to see Apple trim the edges even more so that as I graduate from 6s to 7 or 7x, 8 or 8x whatever....that I can continue to enjoy that same size screen.

(shrug)

Oh....P.S. I'm currently at 10/26/15 for my space-gray 64GB. (ridiculous.....when will Apple ever get the supply side right?)

You are not alone. Still using the older 5S model. Tried to use bigger, but it never worked for me. If I need to use two hands, I'd rather use a tablet for that.

I really hope they manage to trim the bezels down. That's my biggest complaint about the 6s+ size. Its probably a full inch taller than it really needs to be. Apple is going to have to go to soft buttons eventually.

The physical home button with TouchID is one of the things I love most about the iPhone.

I'm more interested in seeing them reduce the size of the side bezels. Height doesn't bother me so much.

Same, I'm using a 5s along with (at home) an iPad Air 2.

I have big hands and the 6 Plus / 6s Plus is awkward. I tolerate it because my eyes are too poor for a smaller screen.

That said, "reachability" makes it far more usable than most Android phablets. It was practically impossible to reliably activate the gesture on my brother's Galaxy Note 3. Even if the GNote3 responded reliably, the action it actually performed was lame and annoying.

You get 1920x1080 screen resolution and optical image stabilization, so that's another reason to go with the Plus.

Funny. "Reliable" is the last word I would use to describe how well Reachability has worked when I've needed it over the past year. Often it WILL NOT INVOKE without locking/unlocking my phone or rotating one way and then back again. It has proven so unreliable that I rarely even try anymore.
