Not this Tony, Ken.

Too much muscle relaxer tonight, courtesy of Evan Williams... I've brought the whole fleet online, added another 36 cores and 24 threads...no idea why I disabled hyper threading on three of the boxes, but not enough monitors/care to go into BIOS and change the settings.

So that's 178 threads plus 36 cores (214?). Keep telling you guys I'm selling those systems...but I'm lazy and HATE haggling/dealing with people.

Can't tell you what projects I've assigned them to, spies... Spies are ever we where! And the networks are disabled, to keep the surprise.

Oh and I cant match anywhere near what some of you are outputting, but I recently built an overpowered unraid server for Plex and figure the dual Xeon E5-2670s could be put to good use

Well, Brian, looks like you have Rosetta well in hand. I think I'll focus on CSG and Universe.

Oh how I dislike coming home to find the Twins sitting on their thumbs, with no CSG to run.

Rosetta's being stingy as well, only a few tasks per update, and long spaces between updates.

The CSG outage may have squashed our hopes of moving up a spot, it was going to be tight as it was.

yep roger that. It looks like we are mired in 14th place. I've put my rigs back on U@H mainly because Rosetta is closer to ending and I don't think we can make enough progress there............. Not ready to wave the white flag yet but ..............

Argh, I totally forgot about this race. Well better late than never I guess.

So my laptop will be joining this race now, and in 12 hours my 8 core server will be as well. Laptop has a i5-4210u and a GT 840M, the server has dual E5345 Xeons. Hopefully this isn't too late to add my machines to this race. :\

In case anyone missed it, CSG is back this morning, but quickly running low on WUs.

Last check CSG has 7k WU unsent

They've had tens of thousands, hundreds of k even, most of the race....but the log seems to always come up showing "project has no tasks available."

Gentlemen, and the rest of you ( ), I've dumped some WU's this morning. I will have a few more Rosetta to contribute, but at an average of 8 hours per task (HT), it seems to me to have been a poor choice for a short term race. Having no chance to complete in time, I'll have to switch over to other projects early.

Hopefully we can just hang on to the spot (#16) we're at in the Sprint (Rosetta). There is literally only a few tasks between us and the team below.

There is hope of getting more points in both CSG and Universe!! An easy 3 points from each, and then a much harder 3 points from each, for an easy 6 to a hard 12 points.

Regardless of 6 points, 9, or 12, we'd only move up one place, but we will have defeated some really powerful teams!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have 1 rosetta task that I know will complete before the Sprint is over and one more that I am not so certain

Go into your Rosetta-preferences and change "Target CPU run time" to 1 hour, save and afterwards hit "update" in your BOINC-client.

Note, this setting take effect when a task starts, not as it's downloaded, meaning you can change the run-time on all work already cached on client and not yet started to run. If not mistaken, in case you fully remove a started task from memory and later re-starts it will use the new target CPU-time, but I haven't tested this so maybe it's just me mis-remembering something.

BTW, even the target cpu-time is 1 hour, some wu's will still run past this time. Still, you should have a much larger chance of returning something before the end with the shorter run-time than sticking to the default 8 hour run-time.

If it hadn't been due to all this crap with "Android is not available for your type of computer", Rosetta@home would actually be an excellent choise for the Sprint.

Yeah, totally throws a wrench in my ever changing 'plan of attack.' Hopefully it messes with the other teams too.

I feel the same. All this 'we got work', 'we don't got work' is giving me a headache. My simple game plan for all the various projects has gone out the window. Time for another can of brain enhancer.
Gonna try the Rosetta time redo. Didn't know about that

Whew! We hung on to 17th until the end of Rosetta. 3042 points, that's all EVGA needed to overtake us, and they sure tried to!

Well done, y'all!

Less than one day to go. (then it's PrimeGrid race time soon) I'm bunkering overnight here, to keep the opponent stats-watchers guessing which project to attack us on. Same thing they are doing to THIS stats-watcher, I suppose.

I've changed my mind, once again.

Gentlemen, if you could all concentrate on Universe, I've got all 13 machines (214 threads/cores) on CSG. Finish up any CSG you have started of course...I think we may gain some ground in both areas that way. But I'm often wrong.

Tight race with EVGA, guys. I think we are safely ahead in CSG, but we flip-flop and trade places every hour for the last three hours in Universe.

Additionally I don't think we can gain another spot in the time allotted in CSG, nor Universe, we just have to hold off EVGA in both races.

Good times!!

PS: My queues are set to run dry of CSG, most machines will crunch to the end, but a few will empty in time to help out in Universe.

Regarding Rosetta: TeAm AnandTech were able to save #17 over the finish line, barely ahead of Crunching@EVGA (#18).

Regarding Universe: There are two duels behind which deserve our attention. TAAT and Crunching@EVGA are currently fighting at #16 ...

Regarding CSG: However, OcUK (#12) will be trembling with fear. TAAT (#13) have kicked in and are about to set the indicator. Crunching@EVGA (#14) have already fallen victim...

Sadly I'm running the last of the CSG in order to help reclaim our spot in Universe, I don't know if it will be enough. I don't think we could have overtaken the UK team (in CSG) but I DO believe we are safe from being overtaken in the next 7 hours.

Finish up your running CSG's and
KICK UNIVERSE INTO HIGH GEAR BOYS!!!

The problem with Universe is it takes so long for work to get validated! I have one machine where I loaded up with work, and I should get 4 more valid WUs out of it. My faster machine ran out of loaded-up work, and it's only guaranteed one more validated WU before the deadline.

Edit: I managed to get some more with completed wingmen. I should get at least 6 validated results out of that machine now.

Tony, thanks for dropping in over at EVGA. It really has been an extraordinary race between our two teams on three different parts of the Pentathlon, and I wanted to congratulate you on your efforts in keeping us at bay on Rosetta.

That being said, you do realize that due to the tiebreaker formula in place, you will take 13th place unless we pass you in both Universe and CSG? By moving your resources to Universe, you won't change your own placing, but if you pass us, we risk dropping to 15th due to threats from below. Have some compassion - move back to CSG! :'(

You know, I honestly just examined your stats, while considering your plea. Eh, you'll be okay, no one's gonna overtake you (bunkering excluded of course). Definitely would have helped you out though if BOINCStats was a threat...they beat us last year and I haven't forgiven them yet.

By the way, I welcome nobody to our Universe@Home team!

That's his name, "nobody".

Edit: looks like it was Brian, but Free-DC stats didn't pick up his name immediately.
