You need 34 just to start that process. Good luck with Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas, Nebraska, West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, North and South Dakota, Idaho, and Alaska for starters.

You're proving my point for me.

How is that? Just using the states I listed you don't have enough states left to convene a Constitutional Convention. Even if somehow you were able to get the required 34 states necessary to hold it whatever they come up with faces the same 38 state hurdle to ratification as any other amendment so please explain how I am "proving your point" for you?

Obviously a true majority of Americans don't support banning guns.

Probably not. I think a majority of Americans do want to ban guns. However, rural states with small populations can stop the process of starting a constitutional convention. Such is democracy, lol

Good thing we have a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy.

And how do you square that with record gun and ammo sales?

The gun ban loonies are a vocal minority, which is why they haven't been able to get any real traction since 1992. The true majority does not support banning guns, which is why the Congress critters that passed the AWB were voted out and why they are so afraid of the NRA: they know gun supporters have enough votes in every state to enforce their will.

You know that "in their face shit" will get you off the libtarb calling lists, right?

The gaping hole in your theory is that there are only a small handful of states with gun control laws as strict as California's, and even those liberal bastions don't approach the topic of banning guns altogether.

So in fact, a majority of Americans don't want to ban guns.

Title pisses me off.

He stabbed 3, shot 3, and off'ed himself, a win for taxpayers.

An AR-15 is still considered a long gun. I sure as shit want my pistol on me when the next Adam Lanza decides to start shooting at me.

Now, granted you are indeed right about one thing..The odds of the next Adam Lanza happening near me, are very very close to 0%. However, since it's not actually 0%, I still want my right to carry. I am a law abiding citizen, and as far as I'm aware I am mentally stable and capable of carrying.

I've been driving now for many many years with no accidents, yet I still carry car insurance. Of course, the chances of me getting in an accident are extremely higher than that of being caught up in the next mass murder, but the stakes of the latter are generally much greater.

I'm pretty sure you're more likely to die in a car accident than a mass shooting (regardless of carry status). Just saying... You have no good reason to open carry. If anything, I would think you're more likely to get shot because you're considered a threat. Also, probably more likely that you'll hurt yourself or someone else with that gun than take down the next mass murderer. Those are a few reasons why I don't carry. The stats just don't make sense.

it's unfortunate because that's such a problematic attitude. I wonder how all the 22+ virgins feel reading these headlines?

Yeah... Not comfortable. He's not painting a good picture for the rest of us and more likely than anything is making any other 22+ year old virgins even more heavily stigmatized than they already are.

On top of that, I feel like all the headlines and actual article content are saying that men are just ticking time bombs waiting to happen. (But not all men, but.. maybe all men. YOU NEVER KNOW! That's the thing, ANY MAN could kill you!)

Didn't some kid go on a stabbing spree in a school not long ago? I mean..that wasn't a gun, it was a knife and he got...quite a few. I know people like to think that without guns the world would be a better place and people wouldn't kill as many so quickly blah blah, however it wouldn't. At all. It would just make it easier for those WITH guns to control things. Those who are going to kill, would build a bomb..or whatever. Where there is a will there is a way. You can't ban stupidity and human adaptive abilities.
