yeah... left wing politics is the group that contains "liberals" and right wing politics is the group that contains "conservatives". please explain to me how they can be to right wing, but both liberal. That makes no fucking sense so like I said the Europeans should just shut up it just looks stupid.

two weeks into this school year i got a call from the jr high. It was the Principal calling to tell me that my son was in a fight and that i had to come to the school. ummm ok so i just happened to take a PTO day so i hop in my car and go to the school.
Turns out that my son finally dealt with a kid that has been bullying him since the 3rd grade. my son had a bad morning, he and his sisters were bickering and he had a dentist appointment so he was in a foul mood that morning.
so the morning goes as planned the dentist appt is over and i take him to school. 30 min after i drop him off this bully corners my son and starts pushing him. my son told him to stop well mr. bully laughs and pushes him into the lockers. well that was it. my son snapped and clocked mr bully 3 times in the face which knocked him down. What does mr bully do? he starts crying and runs to tell a teacher.....
the principal tells me that since my son hit first he is suspended 3 days. I was like WTF lady he defended himself against a bully and put a stop to a situation that has been going on for years.
nope would hear not a word of it. i had to immediately remove my kid from the school property. ok fine so whats going to happen to mr bully? her reply was "well he didnt punch back so nothing" WTF!!!!
Did i punish my kid for this? not on your life. he did what he thought he had to do and he did not start it but he sure as hell finished it. The only thing i would say i did that could be considered punishment in his eyes was making him tell his Tae-Kwan-Do Master what happened.
a funny thing happened when he returned to school after the suspension. he had kids that he didnt really talk to come up to him and said "good job on kicking mr bullys ass"
lol my son had a little cult following for a few days heheheh. this happened back in August and mr bully has not talked to or even thought about messing with my kid anymore.
my son got his red belt on Saturday. so just 2 more belts and he will start on his black.
If bullying was just a kids' thing, then kids wouldn't have anywhere to learn it from. But I suspect that in most cases of kids being little punks at school, they learned it from some adult-sized punks at home. And those people don't spend all their time being crappy parents, they go out in the world and act like douche bags to their fellow adults. Learning how to deal with those people is part of life, unfortunately, like you said.

For example, I would say that the Republican party's views on gun ownership are very Liberal, while their views on health care are very right wing.

Quite the contrary. Zero tolerance was, and is most often championed by Republicans.

a conservative is someone who believes in a strong government, because people are too dumb to know what's good for them (exaggerated but you get the point). the belief is that people simply aren't born equal, some were born to lead and some were born to follow. a conservative is not against change but believes change should happen slowly and organically. this was very popular among factory owners (rich people) in the city.
You should visit Canada some time. Up here, it's the conservatives that have their heads in their asses. They always spend a dollar to save a penny. Instead of the government eating the 20k/year cost of a retirement home or home for disabled people, these decrepit people end up living at the hospital where it costs more like 100k/year. The conservatives fight against safe injection clinics because the clinics cost money, but then they end up spending 10x as much to provide hepatitis and hiv treatment for people who got sick from sharing needles.
