Call me crazy. Yes, Im running a dual PSU setup(Antec 400watt + CompUSA 300watt) on my P3 1000E@ 1450 and it's running so smoothly. Antec is feeding the power to my mobo(means my cpu, video card, pci cards, and the rest of chips on the mobo. CompUSA is feeding the power to all my Drives i.e. HDD, DVD-ROM, Zip drive, Floppy, and Two Delta 38CFM fans, One Globalwin Fop38CFM Fan, and a 100mm case fan. Oh yeah baby this is what I call Tank! hahahahaha. I think the total of 700watt power is lilly bit too much but hey.. that's just me. LOL CHeers!

Question, which PSU do you have to turn on first? or you do it at the same time? how can you fire up the 2nd PSU not plugging it to the mobo ATX connector and still get power ???? hmmmm..

there is mods to do this. i believe the black and green wire tied together would allow both to powerup at same time

Woah, that is excellent.

Slightly overkill but its always entertaining to read a decent story like that

Hope it continues as smoothly!

I have considered such a setup for my rig. Got any pics on how you got both PSU's in your case?

Heh I'm doing the same.
Inwin/powerman 300watt to the board and
Inwin/powerman 250watt to the drives & fans.
Both wired together to start at the same time.

Inwin 250 sits on the floor outside my case.

nooooo.... I turn on the PSU that's connected to all the Fans and Drives. Then I turn on the PSU that's connected to the motherboard. I have a second motherboard(broken one) to fire up the Fans and drives connected to it. (That's Two mobos and Two PSUs) I just use a metal tipped pen or screwdriver to power on each of the motherboard since they are not in a computer case yet. I could've wired them wires up for dual starting the PSUs but I didn't. I don't want to mess with my new Antec PSU. I would like to keep it clean. I want separate PSU units to start up my system. Just my preference, hehe..

dual psu mods are easy and cool to do.
i am running an HEC 350w for my computer parts, and a 300w for a peltier and all my fans.
i am looking to get a 400w for the peltier to replace the 300w and then get a 150-175w just for the fans

total would be 900w
hehe

There is an easy way, You just have to look.
Get a ATX PSU with the monitor power out, Connect the Monitor power out to a AT supply power in.
When the ATX powers up the AT start.

I have this assembly doing 650w in a server at work. ATX 350w, AT 300w.
