7025 3dmarks in 2001se bad?

i just got my new ti4200 and Im only getting about 7000 marks in 3d mark 2001 se my system specs is

1.1GHz Tbird
Asus A7V M/B
512MB PC133
GForce 4 Ti4200 64MB

is that a bad score? i use to get 2000, if its a bad score, could you point me out to some tweak guides around the net

What was the old videocard that you got 2000 with?

If you are hopping from 2000 to 7000 3dmarks with a simple videocard switch i'd say that's more then acceptable.

IMO, your scores are right where they should be. As a matter of fact, being that you're running SDR (PC133) as opposed to DDR (PC2100 or PC1600) your scores are pretty darn good.

Just for reference, my gaming rig:

Shuttle AK35GTR mobo
Athlon 1800XP (1.53GHz, no overclock)
512mb Micron PC2100
Original Visiontek GF3 (no overclock)
Latest (29.42) NVidia drivers

My highest 2DMark2001SE score has been 7409. Usually, its' 7300-and-change. You are just fine!

cool, i thought when I saw my score I was like only 7025? i think what is kind of holding me back is my monitor its max rez is 1024x768 and the best refresh rate for that is 60hz

Your CPU and RAM are bottlenecking your video card. With an XP 2100+ and some DDR RAM, you could possibly see a 20% improvement in performance. At least according to Anand's CPU graphics scaling chart.

Don't be so concerned about 3dMark. What's important is if the system performs to your satisfaction in your favorite applications. (Does it play games well, with the settings you typically use?)

most of the demos I downloaded and I tried at max settings ran well except ghost recon, it ran pretty damn bad..right now I think its my monitor thats holding me back since its max is 1024x768 @ 60hz

even though his cpu and ram are slow, the card is still doing the job

Your card is fine.

Your score will rise when you upgrade your cpu/mobo/ram.

Yes.

And to re-iterate what's already been said, your cores are quite acceptable given your system.
Personally, I wouldnt put any worth in 3DM2001 in any case though as it doesnt tend to be terribly representative of real world performance.

silencer534 make sure you have the via 4 in 1 drivers installed and they are up to date. That increased my score a whole lot which gave me faster performence in games.

When I was running PC-133 SDRAM, I would have been totally content with 7000. There are endless tweaks and tricks you could do to heighten you score (the most rational among them being turning V-Sync off in your driver's OpenGL tab and setting D3D at Best Performance) but the scores really don't mean anything; that program is best put to use when suddenly you find your score has significantly dropped from what it is usually. Use the program to detect when something is WRONG, don't play it as though it were a game.

And this is coming from someone who scores well above 8000 with a Ge3 Ti 200.
I doubt very much on the Ti4200 box, there are screenshots of 3dMark 2000SE. Play your games, and think nothing more about it until you can upgrade your system entirely.

that is what i get with my Geforce 3 @ Ti500 speeds....

since your at 1.1 and using PC133 that seems acceptable..
