People said they'd never put a viper engine in a truck either. We all can want and dream, hopefully they will listen.

Won't happen. again an SUV has a high center of gravity, giving one 707HP is asking for a rollover accident not to mention the fuel consumption, the hellcat manages around 12-13 MPG in city driving, put that engine in an SUV and your looking at less than 10 MPG, few people would like that idea, if you want speed and thrills, buy the hellcat, that's what it's meant for.

The regular 2014 GC is difficult to roll over. The SRT should be even better given that it's lower and has better tires.

Anyone buying a 700hp vehicle of any sort is not going to be concerned with fuel mileage in the least. I'd like to see it in a Jeep, I'd never buy it but I'd like to see it.

The SRT Jeep wasn't really competing with other SUV's. More of a toy with some functionality.....like the SRT-10 Ram.

Always liked the SRT Jeep.

It totally was competing with the Trailblazer SS.

The 392 was kind of a budget alternative to the GL63/G63/X5M/Cayenne Turbo/Range Rover Sport/etc.

Yes, rollover would require pretty major stupidity.

Trailblazer SS was not around long enough to compete much with the 6.1L GCSRT8, and it never competed with the 6.4L version. The SS came out in 2006 and was pretty much gone by 2008. Few were made in 2009.

6.4L GCSRT8 wasn't out until 2012.

They would never do it, the buyer would have to pay a hefty price increase for that power-train then the suspension would need to be beefed-up to handle 707HP, just a bad idea, they would probably sell a few but really with that kind of power you want something with a low center of gravity..

Actually if anyone would do it, it would be them. 1.) They already throw a pretty powerful engine in it. 2.) It already sits lower in that form and have tons of suspension improvemtns. 3.) They would basically own the high performance SUV market. Which is a decent market, I mean Porche makes more on Cayenne sales than they do on on Boxter/Caymen/911 sales.

A JGC with Hellcat crazy embedded in it would fly off the shelves. Right now the SRT is just a marginally fast performance SRT but still out of reach of better Porches, Merc's, and Beemers.

Now hopefully they price it cheaper or same as the Challenger and make it more than a few thousands like the Challenger

Usually not a fan of white cars....or Chargers for that matter, but that looks pretty good.

I am eagerly awaiting Fords answer to this. My guess will be a 720-730hp Mustang of some sort, with IRS!!!!!

So no AWD option?

This is my hesitance.. And I understand why they do it. An AWD transfer case handing >500HP is a lot to ask. And even more so is getting the clutches right so that the inevitable idiots aren't hammering down the throttle while the steering wheel is in full lock on the left or right. There's a lot of liability and wear issues for the manufacturer taking it on. But there aren't alot of high-power sport's sedans with AWD outside of the exotic manufacturers (MB AMG group comes to mind). It's unfortunate, because it completely removes all these cars from my interest aside from just looking at pictures on the internet.

Theoretically, Chrysler can only do so many Hellcat variants, but perhaps the Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Ram 1500 would be good options for another one.
Yes please!

I was pretty meh on the Challenger one at first. I still don't like the front lower fascia on it, and the Charger is a little, I don't know looks kinda awkward for some reason, but I like the fascia on it over the new one.

Would love to see a GC and Ram version too. Especially if they're AWD.

If I was a tuner looking to make a splash, I'd take a GC or Ram with this engine, flare the fenders, and put Viper rear wheels at every corner.

Can't wait to see what the Challenger and Charger Hellcats inspire for SEMA.

They could limit it so that it only sends 1/4-1/3 of the power to the front.

Variable – 40/60 Auto, 50/50 Snow and Tow, 35/65 Sport and 30/70 Track

Those are the current GC SRT8 transfer case splits.
