doubleL, are you sure you don't mean 3dmark2001???? cause my GF2 pro on my 1.4tbird got over 10000 on 3dmark2000, but only 4900 on 3dmark2001...

I just tried a ati radeon 8500le 230/230 on my 1.8@2.2 and I got 7900 in 3dmark2001...cpu doesn't scale well as 1.8 to 2.2 does not do but fractions of a percentage....

3DMark 2000 not 2001 and I did get it up to 9400 but that is still nothing to write home about, That is 2.133 with memory set to 4:5

Gota love a 50% overclock!

What are your cas timings on the ram?? Also do you have a DTL or CTL chip? I have a dtl chip and cannot get it to run at ddr400 no matter what the timings. I have almost the exact same setup as you except I'm at 1.65.

Oldfart stated in antother thread that newer rev chips are not ocing as well from samsung...He likely as the rev C ones and you have the newer rev D ones...

Speculation...Samsung would sell it as more expensive pc3200 now, also being the pc3200 wasn't readily available at time I think oldfart and got his older rev chips...

yep - the Samsung, Kingmax, and Corsair PC2700 overclocking ride is over.

some of us are lucky enough to have bought the original sticks before there was such a thing as PC3000 or 3200. now the sticks are most probably binned and youd be hard pressed to find a really good PC2700 overclocker.

Mine is the CTL. You aren't the first one that has not been able to get DTL to DDR400. Overclocking is always a bit of luck of the draw.

Ok so the DTL chips are not very good overclockers.... has anyone tried the Corsair XMS pc2700??

I am using 2 256MB sticks in the AT7. The FSB currently is at 212, RAM timings 2.5/3-6-3/. Rock solid.

Sandra memory bench is 3086/2765.

Technonut your score looks a little low.

with 1 512mb XMS2700 i got 3096 / 2951.
(2480mhz 155fsb 3:4 412DDR Cas 2.5/3/3/7 on a P4B266-C)

I just went in and changed the Dram Access from 3T to 2T. Sandra now comes in at 3166/2841 Not bad for a KT333 mobo running a 212 FSB.

I am using Sandra Pro with the latest SP1 update. It shows my bandwidth efficiency at 93%. Thanks for the heads up on the low original score.

Not to nitpick, ah... I'll do it anyway.

The algorithm used to find memory speeds for DDR goes like this:

fsb/d1*d2*2(DDR)= Memory speed

D1 = divider #1
D2 = divider #2

So in effect if you have 133fsb and a 4:5 divider, it would be:
133/4*5*2= DDR332.5, not exactly DDR333.

Another thing, at DDR400, my SiSandra scores were higher than yours. Could be that I have different RAM? I don't know.

I got around 2900, IIRC.

could be the different ram
...or could it be that youre running a 4:5 ratio(?) compared to the 4:6 ratio i ran in the tests?

My Sandra scores @ DDR400 seem more "symmetrical" than others. Last test I ran I got 3051/3045

Check this out

This is gsethi's 4G4A+ rig. It seems the Samsung "DTL" is pretty good (in his case) DDR440!
for those who missed my last update, here is my old info:

CPU: 1.60a @ 2560 Mhz (160 FSB)
CPU VCore: 1.800v
Memory: DDR 333 @ DDR 426 (3:4 memory ratio)
DRam Voltage: 2.700v
Prime 95: ran effortlessly for hours

Todays update:

CPU: 1.60a @ 2640 Mhz (165 FSB)
CPU VCore: 1.800v
Memory: DDR 333 @ DDR 440 (3:4 memory ratio)
DRam Voltage: 2.700v
Prime 95: running solid so far......

Seems like there is no stopping on my Ram. Surprised that my Samsung DDR 333 is running effortlessly at DDR 440. (at current increasing rate of DDR 14 / week, my memory will be running at DDR 496 next month now this is one heck of a memory stick.....thanks Samsung)

btw, for your info, my stick is a newer "DTL" model (not "CTL" like some of you are running after). I read somewhere that the "DTL" model is supposed to be DDR 400 memory sticks (in my case, it is certainly true)

FWIW, I was reading in the Corsair forums that their latest XMS3000 revision 2.1 is using winbond rev b 6ns chips and is doing very well - quote from the Ram Guy - "look for a 200MHz CAS 2 part soon"

I've had good luck with a stick of Samsung PC2700 I bought a few months ago.

I'm running on a 1.6A @ 2.2 Ghz (138 Mhz Bus) on an Epox 4SDA+ board.

Memory is running at 4:6 for a memory speed of 414 Mhz

My SiSoft numbers are right around 2950-3000 (I don't remember the exact numbers)

I did have to up the voltage to 2.7 volts to stablize the memory.

I have ordered Asus P4B533-E board and 1.6a cpu. How well will generic oem ram with Samsung chips on it run? I did not realize until after that these are not Samsung sticks. I checked and the RAM and the chips say Samsung K4H280838D-TCB3 Korea. It is DDR33. Do I need the Samsung PCB also to overclock it? I can't test the system out until the rest of the stuff arrives later. So I would like to order some overclockable memory if needed now. If I need a retail Samsung memory, that means I would have to get those PC3000 or PC3200 since everyone is saying the PC2700 rams don't overclock well anymore. Please help out. Thanks.
