Tiger didn't always guarantee rebates. That has been a more recent development, probably to try to turn over a new leaf and encourage customer confidence. I have had several TD rebates processed in the last year, most of them with OnRebate. I've gotten my rebate every time, and quite quickly with OnRebate deposited into my paypal account (I really like that option)

Now keep in mind, I actually fill out my forms correctly and make xerox'es (just in case) every time. There are several people here who will badmouth TD because they filled out the form wrong or didn't include a UPC or something and can't accept responsibility. And you know what? I did that once myself. I sent in the wrong damn form. But when they rejected it, I didn't go off blaming the company.

However, there are others who are just extremely stubborn and were genuinely burned in the past. Online stores are a dime a dozen, and consumers can easily look to the competition and never look back. I don't like seeing crazy flame posts all over the place (it's childish), but I can understand their frustration.

I've had no problems with TD lately (definitely not since the guaranteed rebates), and I don't know that anyone else personally has either ("my friend didn't get his rebate" holds zero validity in my book). That's my 2 cents.

There's normally a upc on the plain cardboard box. At least that's how it worked for the oem vid card I ordered.

I've had mostly success with TD rebates, got burned once but was only $10 and I didn't keep copies I think they had a lot of problems a few years ago and still have a lot of negative feeling about it, but from what I hear have been doing better in the last 12-18 months.

I didn't even get a box with the oem video card I just recieved...anti-static bagged and another plastic bag with cables

Also, the stats show the last 4-5 months have been much better for them

I user tigerdirect often, no problems. Though, I have never bought anything from them that needed a rebate, so I can't comment there.

there are so many things wrong with this deal it is redickulous, i guess this is why Tiger Direct denies so many rebates, because they can't even make a rebate form that makes logical sense, so how can you submit a proper rebate.

I cannot say anything about their rebates, but I've bought three items from TD in the last 6 months and each item.....a video card, a hard drive, and an Opteron.....came quickly, was packed well, and was the cheapest I could find anywhere at the time.

I recently purchased a different OEM drive from TD and it arrived in a plastic carrier with a UPC code inside that I was able to use for a rebate. I called TD about the requirement for original UPC codes for both rebates for the Raptor drive, and they informed me that it was only necessary to send a copy of the UPC code for the $20 part of the rebate. I've purchased miscellaneous items from TD over several years and have never run into any problems. One time I ordered a refurbed digital camera that died after a week and they immediately cross-shipped a replacement to me at no cost.

Here's a twist... I purchased something from Tiger Direct and the $90 rebate for the item was through OnDirect.com. I followed the instructions and a few weeks later received a, 'your rebate was denied because blah, blah, blah'. Now, I did follow the instructions but I didn't make a copy of what I sent and even if I had that rebate wasn't allowed to be re-submitted. OnRebate pretty much left me in a 'sucks to be me' situation. I called Tiger Direct and explained. It took them less than 5 minutes to come back and say the full $90 rebate would be credited to my card.

I've heard a lot of bad about Tiger Direct but they sure took care of me nicely.

Onrebate is a scam. I send a rebate in 3 weeks ago, Priority Mail with delivery confirmation that shows they received it, yet they claim to not have received any documentation.

Just google search for tiger direct and scams, frauds, look up BBB complaints, resellerratings.com etc.. Some folks have no problems and TD has been around a long time but I wouldn't trust them personally.

I think the problems were before TD started using OnRebate for processing. I just sent
in a $70 rebate for a LCD, I paid the optional $5.50 expedite fee, and will have the rebate tomorrow. Total time 10 days since I sent in the paperwork.

TD is up there with SOYO and OCZ, all 3 companies have a very bad past, and all have supposedly cleaned-up there acts,I don't care if they have, they don't deserve mine or anyone elses business, if you people would quit buying stuff from these shadey company's maybe they would go bankrupt, I wish, i can only hope.

Does the OEM drive have the same 5 year warranty as the retail drive...? Newegg says it does, but I thought it was either shorter or didn't have one...

Anyone know which revision of Raptor Newegg is shipping... 00FLC0?
