actually with reabate the egg is equal.

You compaired a 16mb cache drive with an 8mb drive

it is out of stock now and needs a rebate but is equal

Well maybe... one of the reviews at the egg suggest that they just mislabled it on the site but it's really 8mb.

the new 16mb one is the much better newer one with ncq, and native sata etc just like the 150 gb raptors. probably worth while for $10 more at newegg if it was in stock.

I ordered something from the egg yesterday around noon. Got here at 11 today and I used the free 3day shipping option! I don't live anywhere near their warehouse. Gotta love the egg.

Be aware that there are Three 74gb Raptors available in the sales chain now

Original is 74gb (2 x 36.7gb platters ) 8mb cache
New 74gb (single 74gb platter) 8mb cache
New 74Gb (single 74gb platter) 16 mb cache

The newer single platter versions are faster (denser platters), quieter, generate less heat and use less power

Let the uninformed gobble up those Best Buy Raptors
