I did this last month for me and some relatives. Mine had minor issues, such as a savings account being opened without my consent and a hard pull on my CR. My Mom's was a bit worse. She got a hard pull, a savings account, a visa card and a MM account. The fee's were crazy for most of them. But BOA was really nice about getting rid of them. Some relatives just got an account with a soft pull and everything was fine, then there were others like me who got extras that I had to call in and get rid of. One last note. Keep an eye on service charges each month. Some accounts will get hit with service charges even tho they are not suppose to. You just call them up and they give you the money back.

This happened to me, they charged me a monthly fee when I had a free account. They refused to give me my money back (even when I had bank statements proving they charged me) so I closed the account and went to Wachovia.

hmm, went to the local Boa branch and they told me I could do it but I needed a piece of paper with the code on it instead of just the code.

I applied and was approved the next day. Like you, I have a credit card (2 actually) with BOA. I tried to log into online banking last night to check on the cards and it would not let me. Required me to enter my 16 digit check/atm card number and 4-8 digit pin, which I don't have yet. I called them and they stated that I would need to wait the 7-10 days until I received them to access online banking.

That's piss poor that I am cut off of my credit card accounts because I opened a new checking account. BOA sucks in the worst way (more ways than just this). No wonder they give away money for people to open accounts.

I don't guess I understand why a bank would do a credit inquiry when one opens a checkng account. Kinda like car insurance companies checking credit...but don't get me started on them...hehehe.

FYI, this deal happened a few months ago (July?) - I signed up and was approved for the checking account but never got the $100. Called and noted the promo and they said they would do it and never did, so I just closed it.

Someone at FW called at was told (as stated on one of the pages) that there is no maintenance fee if opened online, regardless of what the fee schedule states. I'm waiting for an online chat now...

I also received the email,couple of days later I received my pin# but didn't receive my bank card with it,waiting on that.A little weird how BoA does things but hopefully everything goes through fine.

Hey guys, I got my PIN and the bank card. However, when I signed up for online banking, I did not see my initial $100 transfer into the account. I had to initiate another transfer a couple days later.....They better still give me my $100 bucks!
