I used the link from the OP and the only promotion was for $ 75.00. I did a transfer for $ 100.00 from another checking account and two days later got an email asking me to call in. I did the standard verification thing over the phone and was approved and after asking about the $ 100.00 promo was told it was now $ 75.00. The phone rep confirmed no monthly fee. I will post back after I get the $ 75.00. $ 100.00 would have been better but $ 75.00 is still $ 75.00 for free.

I emailed them ,this is the reply I got back

If I didnt email them i probably would have never received the $100 even though I entered the code when I opened the account,so if your wondering....just send them a quick email.

I used to be with them for one of my credit cards. I always paid my bill on time via snail-mail and mailed it out on the 2nd day of each month. TWICE, they didn't post my payment until the day after the grace period and I got hit with a $35 late fee. BOA is the devil and I'll never do business with them or Chase.

My biggest gripe was that when I called them up to ask why they took 5 days to post my check to the account, I got stuck on hold for an hour and had to talk to a girl that spoke English as a second language (Ebonics was her first). I'm not being racist here, you could tell that she hated her job and didn't want to be there. Her communication skills were very poor. When I payed off my credit card balance and cancelled my account a week later I waited on hold another 45 minutes and had to tell 5 people why I wanted to cancel my account. They officially suck and I assume their bank is the same.

Opened one today at a B/M BoA. They say $5.95/month fee or minimum balance $750 (wtf?!) to keep the account open without a monthly DD.

Going to check tomorrow to see if I can close the account and open an online one without the monthly fee.


If not, Meh. Let 'em pull 6 bucks a month, I'll still net out about $55 when they deposit the "gift". Free money is free money.

This sounds lame, wachovia credited me 100 bucks pretty much instantly when I opened a new checking account, no minimum, no fees, no questions.

i opened my account on 12/30/08 and haven't recieved the $100 bonus. i emailed them and they basically replied, "what code?" i just emailed them back and hope they can get this figured out.

I opened my account on the same day and received my $100 bouns today (2/15/08).

I opened my account on 2/5/2008 on line. I emailed them today just to make sure it was in the works. the reply I got back is as follows

"Please allow 90 days from account opening to receive your promotional
incentive. We value you as a customer and appreciate your business. If

Update:

Don't know when it came in, but my $75 arrived. Minus one monthly fee, I still came out $69 free dollars ahead. I'll take it.

No issues closing the account - just went into a branch, asked to close the account/withdraw the balance, got my money, took it and deposited it at my actual bank.
