When i built my kt7-raid system i went through 4 of thr gxp75. After that i sinced switched to WD's. No problems since and i have trasferred them through like 6 system upgrades/
Wow!! 4 drives, I really feel fortunate to not have but one out of 37 go bad. I'd like to try a Western Digital 80GB Special Edition with the 8MB cache!!!
Yeah, I totally agree that additional cooling, (Hard Drive Cooler) is recommended for "any" 7200RPM hard drive. As I stated before, I always use a hard drive cooler on all the hard drives I install. That may be IBMs problem, heat.
