KT266A. The AMD 760 chipset was just made to give the DDR chipset market a push. The 760 is a very only chipset.

Not to mention that AMD 761 has been EOLed and future support is likely to very spotty, if non-existent.

I was looking at the A7V266-E Series with the RAID 0+1, is the on that I would probably get. Any Ideas on that??

Well, it's the Asus and therefore the most expensive 266A out there but it seems to perform well(I really wouldn't expect anything less from an asus). If you are looking for a mobo with all of the features that the asus has I'd also recommend looking into the dragon+. It's what I bought and I really couldn't be happier with it.

That being said, I think that the decision of which mobo someone wants to buy depends a lot on personal taste and gut instinct. So basically look around and read some reviews and then get whichever motherboard suits you best(although I agree with everyone else that the 266A is definately the way to go).

The AMD-761 is still a good chipset but KT266A just edges it out in performance. Either are a good choice though!

When will mobos with SiS 745 actually hit the retail markets? And has anyone actually conducted any benchmarks with the reference board?

I believe Socket A and DDR chipsets will only get better, but at this point in time, the KT266A chipset has had at least a bit of time to mature. IMHO, the Soyo Dragon+ is the way to go,

Ok, this thread is way over saturated. Every single response said the exact same thing. Do a little research and you'll find that the Sis chipset is already out.

Asus has a good reputation and all, but the Shuttle ak31a is half the price and is great! i used to build my first PC and had no problems whatsoever!

Sure, the SiS 745 chipset is out, but do you see any current mobos with it on the market? The specs of the upcoming ECS K7SA6 are available, but nobody knows when it will actually debut.
