i have a PAVILLION DESKTOP computer. not a gaming machine, so i can't upgrade much more, and it has only 1 fan slot that does absolutely nothing. i can only get a better case. but before my previous 6800 card died since it was faulty was 69 while idle, it was a little lower. what is the cheapest alternative?
ntw yours is a pci-e, and maybe that makes a dif... but i don't think so. also its a leadktek, mine's a evga. what does your heatsink look like, the regular 680 one or a better one?

No, its not to hot. Anything under 80 load and under 65 idle is fine.

thanks, but im confused. some people say the temp is fine, others say it is bad and it will shorten the life of the card. i would think this is not a good thing and should be fixed. i have to turn offf my ocmp and do all the advice.e anyting else, before getting a new case?

way too hot...mine only gets up to about 55 C under load, even when highly overclocked. Not overclocked, it hovers around 47-50 C.
