What's your CPU running at? I've got an A64 (2Ghz stock) running at 2.5Ghz and I got 8K in 3DMark05 with my 7800GT @ 505/1200.

I can only hit around 490/1170, I still get some light artifacting after a while though, going to slap on my Zalman soon

Would a vmod help this out?

My new XFX PVT70GUDF7 Geforce 7800GT stock speed 450/1050. My 3dmark05: 6800. Is it way too low, should I try to o/c to an alreadied o/c factory card?
Is there anyway to read the high temp at load? My idle temp is 53c.

You can use Rivatuner to check the temps at load. It will graph the temp for you so after the benchmark finishes, you can go back and check it.

As far as overclocking goes, that's totoally up to you. You'll have to decide if it's worth voiding your warranty for a bit more speed. Personally, I've always oced my video cards. Some were worth it (20-30% increase), others I just decided to leave at stock (only saw a 5% increase).

Is Rivatuner a supplemental driver/tool to nvidia 81.95 drivers? What I mean is I do not have to remove the current drivers in order to install the Rivatuner.
I already ordered a AC Silencer rev 3 today at the Egg at good price too. Check HoT SALE forum for link if interested.

Rivatuner is a powerful third party app that lets you get into the nitty gritty components of your video card. Here is a good page to read about it and also a link to download it if you'd like. It doesn't require that you uninstall anything.

I have two eVGA 7800GTs.

My N518 OCs to 510/1200, and my N516 OCs to 475/1180. This is strange, the N516 is a "higher-end" GT with stock clocks @ 470/1100. My last three video cards have all been eVGA cards. So to answer your question, I'd say eVGA. They have the highest stock clocked cards.

So far, the highest I've gone with one 3DFuzion 7800GT is 470/1280. At around 1300 mem. I get artifacts.

Stable with no artifacts at 500Mhz core and 1250Mhz Memory on an eVga 7800GT model 516, stock cooling.

I get 8484 on 3dmark05.

Hmm...coolbits detects optimal settings at 552/1200. Yippers. now it says 526/1210? WTF, anyways, thats good enough for me. I should probably DL 3dmark05 again.

eVGA 516: 500/1275

With a preliminary 2.5ghz on this 3200+ (holy GOD that was easy) I get 8087. Not huge, but not bad.

I'm not sure what to make of the video card as the serial clearly identifies it as a 516 (460mhz stock core), but in actual fact it's 470mhz stock - 517 speeds. I'm not complaining.

One of my PNY 7800GT's hit 510/1280 while the other only hits 500/1200 reliably in all games/benchmarks. Got 8139 on 3DMark05 single card, 11614 SLI (500/1200).

Most will probably say evga are the best "brand" to go for but myself, PNY, Gainward & XFX have never let me down.
