7800gt vs. 6800gt on FEAR

does FEAR really need 7800 series video card?

is 6800gt or utlra run fine with it.

pc config: DFI nforce4 board, 1 GB( 2x512) , 6600gt and 17 LCD

i am trying to find out if i really need 7800gt or 6800gt / ultra on FEAR.

6800gt or ultra are fine. If you are like me and never run above 800x600 anyways, its plenty. Even a 6600gt at 640x480 with all quality settings off, pulls 90+ fps in the game. AT has an incredibly good breakdown of a bunch of video cards here: --------->>>>>> LINK



I will say, if you play ABOVE 1024x768 with all quality settings on(ALthough I dont know why anyone would want to), you may want a 7800GT.

I'm running the game on a 6800 GT and it's fine at 1024X768. My video card is AGP if that makes a difference.

7800 series if you want performance ~>12x10 with max AA and settings. Any higher than that and you need SLI.
