You twisted Ben's words as anyone can plainly see. Ben is alright Ackmed, and you can learn a lot from him as most of us can. He never called you an idiot but you try to make it seem so.

Your comments about how he reflects to you now would be meaningful only in the case that Ben actually needed your approval. Which he clearly does not.

Why am I defending him, you ask? Because he deserves defending. I rarely ever see anyone standing up for you in here. If they do, it's usually just the known ATI'ers with blinders.

So you insult Ben by saying "He's not worth it". We all know he's quite valuable in these forums. Like I said, we need not your approval.

I didnt twist anything. He said, "I can only assume that it would take an idiot to come to any other conclusion." I dont come to that conclusion, and thus hes calling me an idiot. Simple as that. Its not my problem if he, and you cant see this.

Did I say he needs my approval? No. I wont take anything someone says seriously, when the call names. Like your pal ronin has done MANY times.

Its not an insult for me to say hes not worth my reading, its the truth. And its my opinion. Obviously you feel differently, and thats fine. Just like its obvious that you continue to have to post behind me, which is pretty comical to me. Its too bad you didnt keep your word about staying in the FS forums. Please reconsider.

Well, on the bright side, you got a laugh out of something. And what does post behind you mean exactly? Should I think of pre-emptive posts to comment on things I "think" your going to post about? I'm good, but I'm not that good.
I only hope one day you can make me laugh just as you found something comical. It would be a nice change.

Too little too late.

Lets see next gen cards already, and with 512MB from the start. I for one don't want to buy old stuff with more RAM added to it. If it takes them 6 months to add 512 MB cards to their lineup, then those cards are 6 months old already!

Not necessarily. It depends on the performance of the cards and the price that they launch with. A 7800GTX 512MB with a 550MHz core for $600 will certainly give the X1800XT ($550) a run for its money.

GTX 512MB better come out, so the 256MB ones can drop on price, namely to around 400 bucks...

or if the 512MB is good, ill get that.

Just sold one of my KO's for $400 to someone on here and the other on ebay for $500. Lost a little but the step-up's on both cards were already expired. I would imagine $400 for a GTX might be just around the corner.

Yeah, it is pretty accurate. NVidia seems to be releasing 3 cards: 6800GS, 7800GS, and a 7800GTX 512MB,
7800GS is being launched on Nov 7, 6800 probably will be released the same day. 512MB 7800GTX is "mid-November" with no set date.

Ok i was reading this and got to Ackmeds post where he stated

smaller? They are the same length. Yes the XT is dual slot, the cards themselves are the same size.

Which is one of the stupidest things I have read in awhile, I guess everyone who is 5' 10" is exactly the same size by that reasoning!

Well, this holiday season you have your choice:

A 625MHz/1500MHz 16 pipe card that reputedly has some noise and heat issues

OR

A 550MHz/1800MHz 24 pipe card that reputedly has a quiet and efficient HSF, if the rumors are true.

Hmmm higher memory bandwidth and fillrate, better multi card, will work on your current motherboard with your current water blocks and be a huge upgrade for you- I can see it will be a tough choice. (and you obviously like nice stuff)

I think that big rubber dongle would really look great hanging off the back of your bitchin rig you obviously spent a lot of time and money tricking out?

That's not what I've read.

yeah right, the rumours from The Inquirer! Gimme a break Don't get me wrong, I hope the rumours are true, but I don't trust The Inq one iota.

You'll know very soon.

I didn't post before them that I had seen the specs and pricing of this card and responded to the email with "Are you sure this isn't a typo?!" because nVidia is bringing something unremarkable to market.

In a very short while you'll know what a few fringe elements like me, and the press already know-
ATIs high end year is over, better luck next time.

Very few people will be buying X1800XTs this holiday season, no matter how many they manage to get to market.

Another real launch coming from nV very soon- no "here are our specs, and we gave Dell some cards, so that counts".

Sorry just the way it's going to be.

Well, I hope you're right. I have an x1800XT on pre-order, but if these specs are correct, and the cards are released at the same or similar times, I'll go for the nVidia this round. However, and don't take this the wrong way, I won't be buying into the speculation until something a little more concrete surfaces

Hmm...I think I'll go fishing this weekend so I quit sitting around wondering about this new card.

If the rumors are true, more power to nVidia. A pair of 550/1800 cards would be just what I've been waiting for.

But if it's just a regular GTX (not even a KO) with 512MB... I'll pass for next gen. I passed over the 7800 cards immediately when they came out, knowing that ATI's pending launch would either be better, or coerce more powerful cards out of nVidia in retaliation.

If it's not 550/1800 I'm going to be so p*ssed at the INQ for getting my hopes up

Ill be real surprised if the stock nvidia part is 550Mhz. I can see EVGA releasing a fast 550Mhz part, but I am still willing to bet Nvidia's stock part is between 480 and 500Mhz.

Looks like I will have some nice options this winter. Although I hope the prices will fall a bit ($500-550) by the time I want to buy one, as I'm guessing these will be over $600 when they come out.
