I just got a DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR mobo. The new 7800 GTX 512MB cards are huge and need 2 slots. If I decide to get 2 in SLI, which would be outrageous in performance and cost, would they fit in the board, and if so, would there be enough space for effective cooling with air and the stock coolers? I checked the forum posts and haven't found a post asking this. If I missed it, please give me a link. Thanks.

Just keep in mind thats $1400, enough for a whole 'nother system. I would just get a Quadro and be much cooler about it.

Will the cards stay cool enough with the stock coolers on it? I heard that the cards may be too close together for effective air cooling.
The Quadro cards run at slower memory and clock speeds than the 7800GTX 256mb version even, 512mb version nonwidthstanding

I'll probably just get a 7800GTX KO 256mb from eVga, which should be enough for my system, I can always get another card later. That way I can save the money if I don't need the extra speed (which I probably won't).

i've got a:
AMD Athlon X2 4400+
DFI Lanparty SLI-DR
Rosewill 2x1GB Ram
Seasonic 600W PSU
unknown GPU from copyright 1994 runs at 640x480 and 4bit color (24colors) maximum
74GB 10K rpm Raptor, 160GB seagate Harddrives
overall, my system is fine except for the GPU, I may upgrade to faster RAM in the future, but I don't know how much of a difference RAM timings make in performance

uh is the quadro even a gaming card? I don't think so. Way to compare apples and oranges there.

Course, anyone with two 7800GTX 512's can only logically be doing video editing, so....
