A lot of folks are smoking a lot of crack with the comments. $599 is actually same price as the ATI X850PE XT last year and the card was sitting at the price for more than 6 months and performance of the X850PE XT doesn't even match up here. For someone building a 6800U or 6800GT SLI, this 1 7800GTX card performs closed to 70% of the 6800U SLI for the same price or actually less.
As for the Pro-ATI folks, X800XL is not even close in benchmarks to the 7800GTX, that's a lot of crack you ATI guys are smoking. Nvidia actually is doing a pretty good job "getting the product" out to the stores at launch. Unlike ATI, who botched up the supply of the X800s originally and kept us waiting for stock of X800 line for a full year without steady supply! If the R520 comes out and same deal with the supply issue, then screw that. Doesn't matter what the benchmarks show, if it is not available.
