i got my 7900 gto 2 days ago and have been messing around and i can get 800mhz on my mem and 730 on the core. I have watercooling which keeps the core down at 39-40C area under full load. i havent tried to push the memery any higher yet, btu i dont want my card to fail either. I'm using the defualt gto bios, gtx bios have loser timmings and increased volts which might kill the cards mem, the box that came with my card also had no gtx marks on it. it was a gto box
what are other peoples results for this beast?

I always think that a poll would be nice in these situations so a user can look quickly at the poll and see where their own overclock will likely land. This looks like a sweat card too bad I already jumped on an x1950xtx.

I finally have my GTO installed tonight.
Using x64 Tweaksrus 91.48 driver. With the aid of coolbit the GTO is instantly turned into a GTX while being overclocked at 691/1600, temps is 45c idle and low to mid 60c depending on certain game.
3dmark06 = 5624 @ stock
3dmark06 @ 691/1600 on air
3DMark Score 6249 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 2782 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 2626 Marks

CPU Score 1750 Marks

3dmark06 @ 691/1600

7900GTO came yesterday!!

Got up to 700/1600, played FEAR for a couple of hours and it seemed fine, but then I used ATItool artifact tester... got some artifacts so now I'm running 690/1600.

Can't complain.

how's the stock cooler on the 7900gto?

I currently have a vf900 on my 7600gt, and I'm wondering if I'm better off putting the vf900 on the 7900gto instead.

How accurate is the artifact tester from ATItools. I mean if I can run fear (a pretty demanding game) at 700/1800 for at least an hour without artifacting, but artifact with ATI tool, what gives?

I had a Zalman VF900 on my previous card with lowered RPM.
The 7900 GTO cooler is as quiet.

Got my system up and running with a 7900 gto last night. It is much quieter than my old card (x850xt), even when running under load. I haven't tried overclocking it yet.

Mine is at 700/1600...I also get artifacts with ATITool but gaming for hours is no problem so I keep it at that.

Mine's at 695/825 no mods, original bios.

The memory might do more, but the core refuses to go any higher.

hey phr0m, what block are you using? Are you water cooling the mem as well? If so, check out this thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=31&threadid=1947333&enterthread=y

Nobody seams that interested, but a simple pencil shade mod is super easy to pull off. Most of those guys are running on the stock cooler too. If you're water cooling the memory as well, you'd be good to go, no problems. The only issue is the mem vregs. A package of bfg copper heatsyncs would solve that though. The pencil shading rubs off completely with just a wipe of your finger, so if you ever need to remove it, thats not an issue either.

Ive been running my 7900gt like that for several months now, no issues.

Been running mine at 702/1600 on stock bios and it games nice at that setting.. and idle is setting at 37c right now. I will be adding a waterblock to my AMD 3800+ X2 in afew days to go pass 2600mhz..

Right now it scored..

I'm still not getting anything like those results. And I've decided not to revert to the old BIOS just yet. I can push the mem up to 800 with Riva, but I actually start getting weird artifacts in 2D

In fact, I start to get weird quick black screens in 2D (the screen actually goes black for a split second) when I push the RAM above 750 using coolbits. It's not my PSU--I've got 600 Seasonic Watts-- and I'm using the latest drivers. Also, my temps are fine since I'm still in 2D. Anybody else seeing this?

Also, anybody else overclocking in SLI? Care to share your results?
