7900GS owners

How much do you have your 7900gs overclocked. What is the stock speeds, and what you run at overclocked. Also, how is the performance when overclocking compared to cards such as the x1800xt,x1900gt,x1900xt, and 7900GT.

Ive been waiting 2 weeks for an x1800xt to come in stock and they are ignoring me now about getting them in. Suppose to have a shipment in last week, and this week is almost over with no word. So I am about to make a decision and go with it. Since the Sapphire x1900gt for $199.00 disapeared along with the x1800xt 256 MB version on newegg the 7900gs is the new front runner.

Also what flavors do you recommend for overclockling?

^^^ LoL ... settling on, he says, almost like ... well, thats all it would do, so I guess I will settle for that. Awesome OC on that card, Falloutboy. Followed your post and can't wait to get my card. Trying to determine what cooler to add to it, but I might just let it stock for a month just to see what it will do. I'd prefer to get the 90 day warranty out of the way before modding it, but posts like yours have me verrry curious as to what it will do.

600/1800 stable, but I run 550/1600 daily.

Edit: I think stock is 450/1320.

Yep, same stock clocks as the 7900gt. Can i just throw an extra question in.....what brands are you's using? I've heard great things about the XFX cards, but little of any others (and any other brands don't seem to overclock as well - something about not using the reference PCB).

I think they are using the MSI's from woot.com.

I plan on getting the XFX or one of the ones that are $199.99 on newegg. I think I'm going to hold off till the end of the month, and wait for some reviews to roll in on them. All I'm playing right now is fable, and by that time I should have it beat so I can jump into a new vid card, and some oblivion.

Re the Woot cards: Are they in fact determined to be MSI OEMs or another manufacturer ? Playing Oblivion now on a 7900GT, but this card upgrades my spare rig from a 6800 to the 7900GS, so Oblivion will play on that in a pinch as well. I think the XFX is currently the best GS card for the price (factoring in the rebate and its overclockability, plus I love that sexay black PCB) so keep us posted, Brad.
