7900GT KO Shaky and sound echo in CS:S

I just upgraded some parts in my system (look at sig for the list). The main things that affect the playing in source, that I can think of, is the sound card and the vid card. I can actually use 1600.1200 resolution which is great and still get around 100fps with no AA/AF on. But when I shoot, no matter what gun I hear the shot and then an echo after it. It is so annoying to the point where I can't understand when I am actually shooting and it is hurting my game play. I am using the 83.91 forceware drivers and the drivers that came with the sound card. Any ideas would be great!

The echo thing sounds like soundcard issues. Im not sure how a video card could make sounds echo.

i bet u accidentally turned on a DSP setting for your sound card, find the programs associated with creative and check them out

i used to get sound echo from creative soundblaster live value

try using different video card drivers - I would suggest the 84.21 from nvidia. I had problems with echo from the 84.56 drivers from evga. aa/af off is supposed to help avoid this problem too, according to valve/steam.

You wouldn't happen to remember what setting or where this setting was located? I went through a few and changed a couple things but no dice.

I will try out the nVidia drivers and see what happens.
