Wow! With those temperatures, 2.5 Ghz should be a breeze. I would guess 2.6 Ghz would be around the absolute highest (with that cooling) if those temperatures are from MBM5. Of course a voltage increase will probably be necessary pretty soon (seeing as you have it 2.3 Ghz so far). Good luck and lucky you for getting such a good chip! My 1.8A doesn't run at 2.4 Ghz with total stability.

I had mine running with 155fsb for 6 hours on prime95 before crashing...
(845D on Gigabyte) but with 2.0 host:memory (memory at 310 only)...

BUT my cpu temp were at 55c!!!???

How you run it at such low temp???
I used retail oe heatsink & fan....

I've just finish cleaning the cpu and heatsink with rubbing alcohol in order
to put on the artic silver (i had to scrap off the thermal pad that was on there)

I also peel off this thin aluminum foil like from the heatsink... did i just destroy it?

Anyways.. that was nice overclocking!

na, peel it clean.

i havnt run any serious 12hour stabilty tests yet - this is just out of the box. ive got plenty of voltage left over too. it goes upto 1.775v

this combo is way faster then my 1.8A @ 2.46 SiS645 combo - even w/o the memory ratios!

...and thx

at this point, everything is still set at default.
SPD specs are showing 2/2/2 in sandra.

i just played serious sam2 for the last hour @ 160fsb - it didnt crash
max cpu temp was 39*C.
voltages are rock solid.

NICE!! You got a SWEET 1.6A there! Mine needs 1.675 bios setting (MBM5 reads ~1.61 - 1.63) for a 100% stable 150 FSB. You think the TT HS/F makes much difference? What is the fan RPM and how loud is it compared to stock?

Congrats on a great overclock. If you only had that 3:4...hmmm...426DDR.

heya oldfart
heres a link to the Thermaltake P4V 478. it uses a 37db 70mm fan. its a tad on the noisy side but not loud. the HS also accepts 60mm fans too.

i never ever used the retail fan so i cant compare them. it much quieter then my delta38 thats for sure!

yea some memory ratios would be nice. even w/o them this system is way faster them my old. i always said the SiS had some weird latency issues - i was right. dont get me wrong the SiS is damn good board ...below 140fsb

...and thx

Wow! Great overclock dude! The thing is, Arctic Silver say that there is a burn-in time of about 50 hours, where the compound actually performs better after that point. You could potentially go higher in a few days. Hopefully Turbo-1 does what is is supposed to, and your PCI clock stays locked at a low speed so you can crank the FSB into the nether regions. Hope your RAM overclocks as well as your CPU :;

The I845d Chipset rocks! What are your pci and agp speeds at?
My MSi 845 Ultra board is running at 160fsb. Can get it to boot in windows up to 167fsb, but stability is not good. I think if i bumped the voltage up a bit more I could hit 170, but stock cooling is running at high 50's low 60's right now. Got a sunflower on the way and a gigabyte board with the 845d chipset. Hopefully I can get better results out of it at higher fsb.

im thinking about getting some corsiar 2700 memory to replace my crucial 2100. Who sells it the cheapest? A test i seen shows the ocz memory to be a little better and able to get to 200fsb, but only 190 at 2.2.2 settings.

jiffylube1024 please tell me about this "turbo1 pci lock". i havnt done any tweeks to the moboard yet - im not set on turbo1.
i already know my ram is good for 200mhz+ - that shouldnt be a problem.

SSXeon5 i bought the CPU and moboard from newegg. the board is an OEM complete with cables, manuals, cd, usb port, etc.
the -C board is an overclockers dream - no audio, no lan, no usb2.0, no post reporter, no smart card reader. -awesome

Jwyatt i have no sure way to know my PCI/AGP speeds. sandra aint talkin. i have no problems running 40PCI/80AGP tho, doesnt bother me at all. i havent had 1 crash yet @ 160fsb. (12hours)
bring your temps down if you can - could be the moboard just reading high tho.
stay away from OCZ - youve been warned

Corsair XMS, Samsung 2700, and Mushkin Level2 seems to be the good stuff these days.

ill be tryin for 165/166fsb today - wish me luck
