7950 GX2 and 965 Chipset Crashing

I've tried my XFX 7950 GX2 in both the Asus P5B-VM (0307 BIOS) and the Abit AB9 Pro (13 and 14 BIOS). However, if I have multi GPU enabled, any 3D program (3dmark06, HL2, COD2, One Ring Screen Saver, etc) will crash the PC either as soon as it does full screen, or not long after.

However if I turn off Multi-GPU they all work fine (ok, COD2 still hangs at 1900x1200 when starting a game, but only at that res).

Any ideas? The AB9 Pro is on the list at Nvidia, and I'm running everything at stock speeds. Good Seasonic S12-500 PSU as well.

Solved it.

I had to also plug a power plug into the ATX4P1 plug on the motherboard. Is this necessary if you have a PSU with stronger 12V rails?

Some of my problems went away and my 3dMARK06 score went up when I began using the entire 8pin 12 volt connector on the mobo vs just using a 4 pin connector...

Well, I have every single plug for power plugged in on the motherboard now. That ATX4P1 plug is for a molex on the AB9. I also have the main ATX one and the other square plug inserted.

So the P5B Deluxe has no issues, eh? Your PS must have a bit more strength in the 12V rails...

What is the 8pin 12v connector?

Anyway, after I moved it back into the case, it crashes again. I even got a Antec TruePower Trio 650W and it crashes.
