7950 & Windows 10?

I have been considering upgrading to Windows 10, but I am concerned about the drivers for my video card. Has anyone upgraded to win10 with this card? Are the drivers acceptable?

I guess if no one knows, I could dual boot Windows 10, and let everyone else know. That sounds like a lot of work though, and I am lazy. lol

If you play War Thunder there is a low framerate bug with Windows 10, I think for the most part it has been fixed bbut there is still some stuttering dropping out of game back to the hanger menu area.

I maintain an amateur benchmarking channel on YT and I benchmark my 7950 as well.

If you are interested, all my videos of September until now are on Windows 10. The cards works fine.

Even my old 5850s are working fine. Crossfire too.

If you want something specific I could test it, if I have it.

The amount of people with modern amd cards who have told me they haven't upgraded to Windows 10 for xyz weird reason is insane....

Those people (other than the ones who are concerned about the datamining) fell for the "AMD has bad drivers" crap and are afraid that AMD won't have working Windows 10 drivers until at least 6 months after the Windows 10 release. It's ironic considering that AMD's Windows 10 drivers fine while Nvidia's are still terrible by comparison.

Is there any particular issue you are concerned about? Are you planning on running the microsoft-picked version that Windows 10 chooses for you, or are you going to install the AMD-provided version that you download yourself?

I guess you could also worry about whether your motherboard, sound card, network card, mouse, and keyboard drivers would have issues too, but why not just jump in and try it, the water's fine.

Ah yes, forgot to mention what KingFatty says.

I use AMD's latest drivers and not what the Microsoft update wants. I have used the known extension that lets you disable what upgrades you don't want.

I am pretty sure it wouldn't matter too much, but since I am a tester, I'd like to have the latest drivers. Pretty happy so far, as I already said. Not one serious issue.

AMD has very solid drivers for W10. I have been using my 7970 with zero problems and believe me i play many different games, use many different programs, etc

OP it's easier to have problems with your power supply running on W10 than it is with AMD or Nvidia GPUs

Updated day 1. Swapped the 7950 for the 290 with no issues all on Windows 10. This is a huge issue for amd though because if they're pushing dx12 performance it's hard when a huge amount of your user base will not update to get it....

I was not afraid, I was just giving it time and being cautious. I probably wouldn't have updated any sooner on Nvidia. I like to let them get these bugs worked out, so I don't have to deal with a bunch of bullshit.

At least half my concern is actually with Windows 10 itself, but i have heard good things about performance, which is the only reason I am interested in upgrading.

From my experience every other new windows OS is a beta for the real release a couple years later.
