It's a awesome card , but the 6970 Lightning sported similar hardware features and upgrades and was what $400 dollars ?
Now that AMD has competition from Nvidia and it's own lineup, 600 bucks for this cards is to much.
Man they are proud of those 7970's. Wonder if they are planning on dropping prices? Both the 680 and 7970 have pros and cons but price really makes an argument for buying the 680.
I wonder if people read the reviews where this card overclocked was slower than the stock 680, which was also quieter, and $100 cheaper?
It didn't beat out the 680 in anything after the overclock?
Man this is a badass card. At $500 would of been a no brainer over a 680.

Oh I'm sure it did, probably closed the gap considerably on the 680 in the games reference was behind in by a lot.

Is this true? If it is slower than a stock 680 then it would have to sell for a bit lower than 500.00.
I'd like to see the review though. How bout it Balla? Linkage?
. The 7970 seems to scale better as it is overclocked, but regardless, should be priced no higher than the 680 as the 680 performs better at stock speeds and is slightly more energy efficient.
Jeez, you are totally right. Impulse canceled, thanks for hitting me with a dose of reality.
It was posted in the 680 review.
Way to cherrypick benchmarks, disgusting. Either paste everything or just the summaries or nothing at all.
See what I did there?
You just cherry picked a set of 7970 benches now. Opposite of Balla. :whiste:
Yeah my apologies, next time I'll post all of them and flood the forum with benchmarks I fond non relevant.
Deus is unplayable with the 7970 due to AMD's driver problems dropping to 20 fps all the time, and Metro 2033 is an unoptimized 2010 title (neither card would be considered playable by most even at 1080p), kind of like using Crysis only without the devoted fanbase or the terrible frame rates.
