will dx12 let you run 2 different cards of the same brand? it looks promising to have a 390x + 980 Ti, but will it allow his 7970 + a 390x?

anyway, what i'm getting at, even when you DO upgrade, if you're gonna be doing some dx12 gaming, may want to hold on to the 7970 to give yourself a boost.

I think a lot of people are going to disappoint themselves by confusing what DX12 CAN do with what it WILL do... DX12 opens up the possibilities to do a heck of a lot, however, to do any of it requires a LOT more work from developers and I just don't see them putting in the effort to exploit much of its capabilities.

i forget the name of the game, the one that was basically the first directx 12 demo; that was literally just a tech demo to show what it CAN do if the devs put in the extra work then? so you have to hope that devs will include it?

that's why i was asking if you could for sure do it. i was taking what i read with a grain of salt. hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Sup amigos, its been a while since i checked this post, your comments are really on the spot and i've learned a lot from you. I finally decided not to sell the card because my gut told me not to, or maybe my love for it is to strong. I'm trying to repair an old GTS 8800 320Mb card i had from 6 years ago and if it works ill put my 7970 on sale again but im still not sure if its good idea to sell , maybe i wont get as much as the previous buyer was offering but still, even if they offer 200 USD is more than enough, we have to consider that GPUs in my country are at least 30% more expensive than US. Would you still recommend me to sell it and wait? I definitely wont go for a 390 , unless it used and good price, which is hard to find these days.
On other note, what are the news on polaris or pascal? could you recommend me a page or forum where i can stay updated? thanks folks

I would wait for after-market 1070. Founders Edition 1070/1080 have laughable $70-100 premiums and will be destroyed in overclocking, noise and temperatures by Asus Strix, MSI Gaming, Gigabyte G1, etc. Since there will be no after-market cards at launch, keep using the 7970. This also means if AMD unveils their cards in June, soon you will have your pick between Polaris 10 and a 1070 that costs less than the Founders Edition.
