Funny, whenever I go to target or walmart, posted on the doors right next to the current weekly ad is a list of price error notices and corrections. I dare you to walk in the store after passing by such a notice and DEMAND they honor the incorrect advertised price.
Funny, I dont recall demanding anything.
Not true, they usually just publish a correction in the next day's paper saying sorry for the price mistake and change any signage to reflect the correct price. Furthermore, with websites they also have those terms and conditions that you agree to when you sign up that always say that in a case of a price mistake, they can cancel the order.
That may be true in your experience. However, in cases of erroneous advertised prices, Ive gotten the customer service desk to honor the advertised price before. Target and Staples come to mind as examples.
I can't believe this many people are bitching about $2.50 for an awesome game.
Bitching? I said I was sore about it. Thats bitching to you?
It isnt the money, its the principle. Id probably buy it for $5 if I could give only $2.50 to Steam and the other $2.50 to the developers directly. Stubborn? Sure. Bitching? No.
I fully believe Steam was within their rights to change the price and I havent said otherwise. I just dont think it was very ethical to do so when there was a literal clock on the ad telling me how long I had left to buy the game at the stated price.
