Hello, I am building a PC for my little brother so he can play Diablo III with a little budget of 800$ CAD

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming (Diablo 3)

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
800$

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
Intel, nVidia

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Everything new

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Default speed

8. What resolution will you be using?
1080p

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.
As soon possible

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
No

I know I should get an i5 3570K but other than that not too sure.. :/

Thanks for the suggestions

Diablo 3 will run smoothly on a Pentium and a 6850. But for $800 you can of course build a better rig than that. Are you looking to get the best $800 rig or the cheapest rig that can run D3 smoothly?

Regardless, you can't really fit in an i5-3570K without sacrificing one thing or another in an $800 build... and you definitely won't be able to fit it in if you also need to buy a monitor. Besides, you said no OC

Ok. Here's what I came up with

i5-3450 $203
Asrock H77 Pro4-M $99
2x4GB Crucial 1600MHz $43
Sapphire 7850 2GB $243 (when it's available...)
Seagate 1TB $88
DVD burner $18
Antec One $47
XFX 450W $50 ($40 AR)

= $791 ($781 AR)
Really nice build... It just blows my mind what someone can get these days for under $800, a 3.1GHz Intel Quad core and an insanely powerful AMD 7850 GPU. As for the other components: XFX PSU, should be super reliable. 8gb Ram, perfect amount of ram for ANY purely gaming rig. 1tb hdd, way more than most people need. And that Antec case looks fantastic to my eye (I loved the simple but striking styling of the Antec 300 as well). Yep, for what it's worth I definitely approve of this build

Z77 can overclock the CPU, but i5-3450 has a locked multiplier so you can't use that feature anyway. Apart from that, H77 Pro4-M actually has better features - more SATA 6gb/s and USB2.0 ports, SPDIF out, DVI out. These features may or may not be needed but can't hurt to have them. All in all, it's the better board for you and it costs less. (I was unaware that Pro3 could be had for $100 AR but it's still $130 up front and even if the rebate went through, which it doesn't always, you'd get the cash months later.)

Not to hijack this thread but...
Am looking at this build as well. Anything you wanna change if ur using the rig for some photo and video editing? I use Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
Will be using my existing GTX 560

NCIX has the Gigabyte dual-fan 7850 in stock for $280. Puts it right up at the budget, but you wouldn't have to wait. If the OP's brother doesn't care as much about noise, there are plenty of single-fan models available at Newegg.ca for ~$240.
