I only see it for $89 after the mail in rebate, but I can't find any reference to the $40 instant one.

Good luck getting them. I was at the Frys in Industry today. There was a line outside to get in the store, and once in the store there was a line to get the drive. People were just getting in the line even though they didn't know what it was for. I know the Industry store is out of stock. They are also out of the 64 MB Cigar Flash Memory, MP3 Player that was free AR, the 4 port USB Hub Free AR, the 64 MB Blinking Memory Stick. Don't trust them when you call them. They told me at noon they still had over 100 64MB Cigar Flash Memory, but when I called them on it they told me that all 100 were in people's shopping cart in the store (as if they can tell).

I'm not sure how many is in stock in the Burbank Fry's but I just got myself one. You have to wait in line but the line wasn't as bad as the City of Industry one (my friend told me it was crowded). The drives are stored in their cage so I couldn't tell how many was in stock.

I also got one at the Burbank store today. No big lines and no problem at all. I was in and out in 20 minutes.

I got all of the above except for the Cigar Flash memory (out of stock) and the MP3 player (not interested) at the Austin Fry's at about 5pm-- also got "No One Lives Forever II" and "The Lord of the Rings" PC games for $14.95 each. They had plenty of the 80gb drives left as well. My experience at Fry's with sales is positive -- they always seem to have plenty of merchandise on hand. Contrast that with CompUSA, which sells out of the good stuff 15 minutes after opening.

Oh, and no line for the drives--had them stacked on palettes. I did have to stand in line for the memory stick thing, but it was 5 minutes.

The Frys in Manahattan beach has everything in stock. ECS ATX combo, Robotech PS2 game, USB keychain, Memory stick. It was amazing considering I went there at 4pm.

Just came back from San Jose Frys. All out of the 80gb drives. Got the last one, but some guy asked me about it so I gave it to him(since I already got 2 at lunch).

I actually did get it 2 weeks ago. One of the First few that was at the LPG-Return line and got 21.65 back, But AR I will still pay about $8 more. Cuz I've already mail out my $40 rebate to Seagate, not the $50.

I was so tempted to get another drive however..not sure they would let me but the lines were too long for the mobo/cpu etc + ram at the City of Industry one. So the Burbank has a lot eh? I even got $ back for the LoTR game i bought last Friday.

Hamilton/Campbell fry's was pretty dead today. There were pallets of the seagates out there, even though I was there to get the AXP2000/ECS board combo.

woke up at 7:40....decide to go to fry's in milpitas, ca and see if i can get some sale items....
got there at 8:20...still has about 10 of the 80gig seagate left, grabbed 1..then they bring out
another big piles of the same drives...about 100 or so, grabbed another one for my brother...
they also has the wdc 80gb 8mb verison for $129 with $40 rebate, this drive has 3 yrs warrenty
compare to most other drives 1 yr warrenty (the seagate drive has only 1 yr warrenty too)
decide to grab a couple of the wdc drives too, still not sure which 2 to keep..but i got a month to
think it over..
the checkout line was long..all the way around the store, but unlike other stores fry's actually
has tons of cashiers working, 50 or so..the line move rather quickly...
also got a copy of no one lives forever 2 for $15 w/ $10 rebate...

actually saved more than black friday at bb when all i want and all i got was the ti4200...
no staying up all night, went out at 4am in the moring to freeze myself to death for 2 hrs...
