quick question i hope someone can answer, i just purchased a new dell system, if i get this HD and have Compusa install it, would it violate the terms of my service agreement? i can't seem to find any info on Dell's service agreement, and i could def. use an 80gig to store all my music on. Could someone help me out here?

Those are newbies seeing the description saying ata66, they don't know vendors just use the description from the distributor and the distributor hasn't updated the database.

Most OEMs (HP, Dell, Compaq) will usually void your warranty if you change certain components of their pre-made systems. The best thing to do would be to call Dell's tech support and ask them first.

I'm so tempted to buy one of these... what to do... what to do...

this drive is nice for just storing stuff like mp3s you dont really care about speed, I want to get one of these and two smaller 40 gig 7200 rpm maxtors so apps and windows loads faster

heh I was driving to the edison, nj location and some chinese guy in a gold camry started tailing me (as if he was rushing somewhere) -- he took the long way in, while I took the short way in, so I had already parked and was halfway to the entrance and the guy runs out of his car and pushes me out of the way and runs inside the store (needless to say I was pissed)...he ran over to the harddrives and I didn't realize why, but after seeing he didn't get what he wanted, that was good enough for me so I didn't start anything (i'm assuming he wanted this drive...I only wanted the tv wonder ve)

still, it's funny to see what some people would do to get a deal.

I am thinking of getting the AIW Radeon 8500DV and this hard drive. I hear a lot of people saying that this would be a good upgrade for thier Tivos and stuff, so I am assuming that it is capable of going fast enough to record live TV? I mean I have used a 5400RPM drive before, I just want to make sure it will do what i want of it.
