First, thanks to all who posted links to the rebate coupons and to whoever brought this deal to light.
I made several attempts to order online but couldn't get by the OOS flag. This morning I called one of the local stores after receiving a tip from a friend who spotted a 40G Maxtor there yesterday. The clerk said yes, they had one left so I told him to hold it for me, I'd be right over. When I got there, the salesperson said "Sorry, but we made a mistake, we are OOS on the 7200rpm model". He offered to sell me the 80G 7200rpm for the 40G AR price so I wouldn't have to hassle with a rebate . I told him I was interested in price, not capacity (the truth, no kidding!) and there were two $30 rebates good for the 40G drive only. He said he wasn't aware of a second rebate but if I could bring in the coupons he would honor them on the spot. I went home, put the coupons on a floppy, and went back to the store. The clerk printed the coupons, read them, then rang up the 80G for $30. Now that is really decent customer service in my book. Way to go OD!
BTW, I couldn't locate the $20 off $75 coupon but I'm not whining

Sorry, this is not a Hot Deal others can get. Please post this in the Moderator sponsored ~~~~ Brag & Moan ~~~~ thread.
