If not, then more encouragement to believe that they won't support their products or warrenties in the future.
Regardless of how they try to spin it, consumers drive the industry, and you will only be able to throw the consumers into the dirt so many times, before they leave.......
LOL
I am willing to bet that 99% of the people that tried to get in on this hot deal
never have and never will buy anything from IBM. I'm sure IBM knows this as well. It would be sheer idiocy for them to fullfill 8000+ orders at that price, even if it was their cost price. So in short, they aren't losing any customers.
I have bought several Thinkpads from IBM and paid much more than a comparable Dell etc. because IMO they are worth it. I would never dream of paying their full price of $522.00 for a drive I can get elsewhere for less than $200.00.
Congrats to the people that received one. I don't expect my order to be fulfilled and I won't piss and moan about it either.
And legally they are covered anyway, here is an excerpt from their order acceptance policy...
"If a Product is quoted at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information:
1) Lenovo has the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for the Product quoted at the incorrect price, even if Lenovo has confirmed the receipt of your order and charged your credit or debit card: and
2) If Lenovo has charged your credit or debit card but subsequently canceled your order, Lenovo will promptly issue a credit to your credit or debit card account for the amount charged."
Go to the order page and find the Aqisition Agreement for the complete areement.
Put the shoe on the other foot.
If they had to fullfill every mistake made, this drive might sell for $800.00 in future.
