I've been wanting a new PDA phone and wanting to get rid of tmobile. After looking on a million sites, it appears that buy.com has a killer deal. it's even $150 cheaper than amazon.
Our Price: $279.99 (requires new activation)*
Price After Rebate: $49.99

$150 rebate
$80 rebate

http://www.buy.com/retail/wireless/prod...&loc=12435&shr=&a=&z=48073&s=22&p=1&w=

This is cingulars HTC or whatever phone. I currently have the tmobile version and love it. You can get internet unlimited for $20/month. It's a full blown windows PDA and a decent phone.

$49 after rebates from buy.com

there's one FAR without a keyboard and a bit smaller. The one with the keyboard is a pefect size IMO.

requires 2 year contract but most do these days.

it's a $500ish phone FYI.

You can put a NES/GBA/etc emulator on these phones. it plays zelda well. also streams radio stations well. http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/ you can search for yer local radio stations here. Plays movies well on a mini SD card. MP3s as well

I am not trying to thread crap but for those who wish to stay with T-Mobile you can use this deal to get the MDA (same phone but the tmobile version) for cheaper. This is totally a YMMV but I was able to get $150 off the MDA as an existing customer because I compared tmobiles deal to amazons deal for cingulars 8125. I said I would switch if they could not come close to matching the deal and they did. This is even a better deal so they might reduce the price further.

Like I said, a total YMMV. My wife LOVES this phone, we got her a 2GB mini SD card and have 1.2 gb of music on it currently. It is alot smaller then any other pocket pc phones I have played with before. Good luck.

The T-Mobile version also has Wi-Fi. The Cingular version doesn't.

This is the same for the MDA and the K-Jam, all are the exact same phone with only external differences. The Cingular and the imate are exactly alike with the only diff from the MDA being the keyboard layout and lighting as well as the external buttons.

The K-Jam and 8125 have java all-ready installed but a simple hack will enable it in the MDA. All can be overclocked with 802.11g enabled via a registry hack. There are many good sites that show you how to tweak these phones to the max, I got most of the links from howardforums.com.

Stay away from buy.com!

My GF made the mistake to order a phone from them!
Never again!
They are idiots and will screw up your order.

It took 3 months to cancel the order after waiting 2 months for them to replace the broken phone that they had sent her!

Stay away, it is not worth it.

If you order a cell phone online, go with a reputable reseller like Amazon.com

There simply is too much that they can screw up with a cell phone order.

BTW, I ended up ordering my 8125 when I posted this. I ended up ordering a 2125 for my fiance. The lady at buy.com told me and emailed me confirmation that you get a rebate on both. I did a family talk plan.

So in Michigan(maybe same or close everywhere) I have the following.

$476 total price
1 8125 phone
1 2125 phone
Total rebates $400 - this part confirmed by her and in an email to cover my a$$
total $76 for 2 sweet phones

$114/month + taxes monthly bill for
1400 family talk rollover minutes
added on 7PM+ night start time
unlimited internet on both

even better deal done that way IMO if ya need 2. could have gotten another 8125 but my fiance wanted the 2125 since it's more girly. lawl.

There are two rebates, $150 & $80.

According to the Inphonic rebate info:

You are eligible to receive a $150 Voice & Data Rebate when you order from this website, activate a Cingular 8125 Pocket PC (Multimedia Phone), and activate a Cingular Wireless plan that is $39.99 per month or higher, as well as a compatible Data Connect or Xpress Mail calling plan add-on feature of $34.99 per month or higher.

Hot if you're planning to get a Data Connect or Xpress Mail, otherwise you can't get the $150 rebate. The other $80 rebate, as long as your acct is kept for 180 days.

I was screwed out of $300 bucks by Buy.com/InPhonic on a cell phone rebate last year, I'm never trusting their rebates again.

Yep - and based on my experience with them that is what you get: no rebate and a bad headache

Its an AWESOME phone, i just wish EDGE was faster...

I use the PPC6700 (sprint version) and the speed is awesome. If cingulars service got up to sprints speed i would definitely own one as well.

No, only retail stores and it's own website and that may vary between markets.

Cingular is supposed to carry the next generation HTC PDA phone called the Hermes...which is basically an upgraded Wizard (Cingular 8125) that supports HSDPA data transfers (which is faster than Sprint and Verizon's EV-DO)
