I have an 815e chipset with 256MB RAM. PIII 850Mhz processor.
My machine hangs a few minutes after the OS is loaded. I installed windows on the machine it installs file, but just after a minute the system has booted, the machine hangs. Simillarly, when I install linux in text mode, it installs completely and after a few minutes the system hangs up again.
If i install linux in Graphical mode, after 5-6 minutes the machine hangs, none of the devices response. I have to do a hard boot. The problem is not with the HDD or the RAM, as I've changed both of them, neither the installation CD, as those have been tried on other machines.
In between I had given the MB to a hardware dealer, who mentioned that the capacitors were swollen. Can any body help me detect where does the problem lie.
