NanoMem im not using the 3:4 ratio when hunting for FSB speeds with the dipswitches.

ill try to get the rest of them identified tonight.

Thugs, I think you'll find this of interest to your current focus on pivot 166 cuz intel is about to certify DDR333 with upcoming chipset releases and the addition of P4 2.66 which is probably a core of 133 mulitplied by 20. Note also the mention of DDR333 support in BIOS. Intel is just going to hardcode those ratios into NB and label it their new 845GE/PE. Check it out!

Sorry, I got carried away! You're right you did mention this to me yesterday that you were just making sure that the value was hardcodable with the dipswitch in 1:1 mode and once found you'd drive it into 3:4.

Peace.

christoph83 yes we are using the 1.7v wire mod.
it gives us 1.74-1.76v in windows using jumper mode.

NanoMem yep i already knew months ago that intel is going to a 166fsb. they will also be going to a 200fsb shortly afterwords. probably with DDRII. both platforms "officially" use 1:1 DDR ratios.

obviously intels realizes the importance of high fsb and 1:1 ratios and are going to capitalize on it.
they are basically overclocking their own chips - just like we are

OK! Going back to the list at the very top of the thread looks like FSB switch settings for 66 and 170 are twins. Could it be????
Regardless, the following 3 are missing:
OFF ON ON ON OFF
ON OFF ON ON OFF
ON OFF ON ON ON

Peace.

Anyone know what the PCI/AGP speeds are for the 143 or 145 FSBs? I really hope setting the system to Turbo1 (locking the speeds at 36/72) is retained in jumper mode...

Mage actually 2.5/3/3/7 aint bad at all for 400DDR speeds.
the SiS645 boards toss it back as far as 2.5/4/4/7 @ only 333DDR :|

NanoMem im all done with the dipswitches - no 166fsb

here's screenshot of my P4A @ 1063mhz 66fsb :Q

In a couple hours I'll see if this works with my P4S333.
Wouldn't that be nutso if I could get 135fsb or 140 with a 3:5 divider?

Pretty much true. DDR400 needs cas2.5 with currently available ram. I can run 3/2/6 which is only a very slight performance improvement from 3/3/7.

Thugsrook Have you tried adding Vmem? I read in the mobo manual you can change it with jumpers...stage1 = 2.6v...stage2 = 2.7v

ThugsRook, that's all of there is to the list! I guess at the time that Asus was engineering the P4B266, they just didn't program 166 in the hardware but they did use this board up to 180 obviously.
Peace.

3:4 at 170FSB = meaning DDR453.33....have you try running this set up? I know you did 1:1 at first EDITnm...i just saw it at your beginning post
can you imagine 3:4 @ 180FSB = DDR480...if this is possible...bet it will beat out most RAMBUS...

yea 170fsb 3:4 wouldnt even boot.

even todays best DDR cant run much over 420DDR 100% stable.
most PC3200 is nothing more then OCed PC2700.
why have we not seen 4.5ns DDR yet?
