Amen!!! Cool scores! Very impressive! Good job! You finally did it!

Now, if you allow me to pick on few minor details, all scores at 155@3:4 are better than 166@1:1. Isn't the trade of those 11 FSB's for mucho DDR ~79 really worth it! This was my argument behind why 3:4 was better than 4:5 at same DDR in the poll thread. I know my point was missed but I can only blame myself for convoluting the idea.

Also, your sandra mem with 150@3:4 is similar to Tuffguy's BG7 with 145@3:4 if I recall correctly. No sweat though, it's not like a big deal!!!

I believe 160@3:4 might be failing cuz of agp/Pci=80/40. I'd be very curious to see some scores with 166@3:4 as agp/Pci goes down to 66/33 there. If you can't then you ram is most likely streched to its absolute limits.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Could you please answer these few questions?
1)Do you have any specs of the chips on your dimm?(if of course they are not hidden under something)
2)You say cas locks beyond ddr333, are the cas settings beyond fsb125 with 3:4 the same as the cas settings beyond fsb166 with 1:1?
3)what are the voltage (psu rails, vcore, ddr and agp) as well as any cpu heat readings for max fsb under 3:4? Is your NB getting hot now?

The last question is probably the most critical to me personally as that is where my balance hangs versus abit. I can write a whole page about the topic but I'd rather just wait for your answers.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Now that you made 3:4 "I N F A M O U S" on P4B266, do you still need a p4b533-e?

You can't start to imagine how important your results are in terms of comparing 845D/E/G, the importance of various ratios and which mobo overclocks best. Asus still deserves a lot of credit except I wish they would not lower their standards to meet Intel's marketing plots (I mean give me a break, doesn't 845GL remind you of the celery, old SX, etc.). Hiding such powerful features when every other vendor is milking them (from DDR333 to PC1066) is just not right. Well, obviously Asus doesn't seem to be worried, I guess they're just confident in what they produce and don't have to prove anything. Supporting these key ratios in BIOS would definitly give them a boost from the overclocking community.

Thanks man. Peace.

memory is Corsair XMS2700, chips are hidden.
Cas settings are locked @ 2.5/3/3/7 beyond 300DDR period.
voltages and temps were no different then normal. this system is already proven 100% prime95 stable @ 170fsb. (NB = 30*C max stock cooling)
im not sure if the AGP/PCI lock is in effect or not. also not sure if this board has a real 1/5PCI divider so 166fsb wouldnt be any better.

i still think the P4B533 will do all this, and more

for me - im not using the ratio, id rather be at 2720mhz. if i had better mem/board i could probably go 160-166 with a 3:4 ratio 1/5PCI divider easy.

Every time you flip a switch agp/pci gets changed to something between 56/28 to 100/50. This is how agp/pci get changed around for few of fsb values:

FSB,AGP/PCI
160,80/40
155,77/38
150,75/37
166,66/33

Good news overall! I think I'll be getting the p4b533-v.

Thugs, try off,on,on,on,on for FSB 166@3:4 and if it does not work it's because your ram is not capable of doing DDR 442!
Peace.

Then flip all the switches around ie. on,off, off, off, off and if you still don't see 166, flip switch #10 around.

Other then this, you'd need to cycle through all possible combinations and hope that 166 is among them.

Good luck!

wow...i gotta try this...
i found my system much better at 150FSB...also i put my other ram back in so i have 1GB of ram...didn't really notice any difference in performance...no i guess i will have to remove that old stick of ram cause it won't do anything over 155...

thugsrook I havne't been able to try it out yet since i just found out about this today at work...I will get to it as soon as i go back to my apt...so i don't know when...cause i don't go back that often...i stay over at my gf most of the time...
hopefully i can achieve 166FSB if someone could find out what the setting is...cause i read that you can get higher overclock with jump mode...I will LYK as soon as I can...Lates

HAHAH...I just notice my long descriptive sig...
anyway...i have a quick question...so the overvolt jumper in jumper mode give extra 0.2v...and in jumperless mode just a few more voltage option in bios??? like if highest was 1.70...then when set the options goes up to 1.75 i believe??? correct me if i am wrong...and this is on a P4B266-C mobo

since i have the 1.7v wire mod i didnt need to use the OV jumper. (shows as 1.75v in Win)
i was able to run 170fsb just fine in jumper mode.
the OV jumper should boost vcore by 0.1v - but maybe not since its in jumper mode.

i dont think we have a 1/5 PCI divider @ 166fsb

Hey ThugsRook! Sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time locating that bad boy (166!) but if you want a systematic way to get there, here is all 32 combinations using sw5,sw6,sw7,sw8, and sw9. I think Asus burried it somewhere making it a dirty job for hackers. . Note that you have already done some of them where the last switch is in the off position.

Edit: Removed long list of on/off's. List now is at the very top. Disregarding sw10 for now.

LOL...Ya, well with your 66 FSB maybe we can start an underclockers club and see who else can beat it.

Peace.

PLEASE LOOK AT BEGINNING OF THREAD...

btw...what does dsw10 does???

This is sweet! I did the mod at 155Mhz FSB at 1.75v on the core (true voltage) at 3:4 memory and it's perfectly stable so far and I can beat the pants off RDRAM in Sandra 2002 and all benchmarks jumped... PLUS I can run at 1.75v core now and beat a 1.6A at 1:1 ratio running at 2700Mhz! Saahhhwweeet!

If this turns out to be 100% stable, I'll have to go for 160Mhz FSB with 3:4 I doubt that will work, but we'll see!

Regards,

hehe isnt this fun?

155fsb 3:4 ratio isnt faster then 170fsb 1:1 tho.
itll take 160fsb 3:4 ratio to be faster for gaming.

SupermanCK, doesn't look like sw10 is making fsb change so I wonder if it has another purpose such as changing agp/pci ratios for the same fsb's. So unless we figure out the purpose of sw10, I suggest we cut the list in half to only 32 lines or less (if you drop fsb values below 133 as they can easily be attained via BIOS) by keeping only values where sw10 if set to "OFF" and dropping those with sw10="ON". That's a big stab you took at the list though. Still no sign of fsb=166 though. Where the heck is it?

I am starting to suspect that 166@3:4 or DDR442 is not showing up cuz thugsrook's ram is not fast enough as it fails to boot at the next level 170@3:4 or DDR452. Anyone out there with at least truly rated pc3000/pc3200 (or real DDR375/DDR400 and not overclocked pc2100/pc2700 (usually labeled DDR266/DDR333) DIMM's should be able to overclock into the 450 DDR zone. If you can read and check the ratings on the chips&dimms to confirm the real speed of your ram with no overclocked rating added to it. Expect ratings of no more than 6ns on the chips/dimms as 1000/6=167 when multiplied by 2 for DDR gives you what is considered true DDR333 or pc2700 ram that you should overclock higher.

Peace.
